Superb Detector!
While I am still learning the detector, it has served me well thus far. It's not easy to use initially, but with practice, it will be fine. Additionally, I found the price to be reasonable. The quality is outstanding, as typical of Garrett products. It has provided loads of fun for my family as we uncover relics and old coins. Insofar as functionality is concerned, it's going to take a while to learn the various modes and best settings. Thus far, I've been using Chat GPT to ascertain settings and recommendations that the manual does not include. Other than the above, Garrett has produced a great metal detector. Gone swinging' and diggin'!

Not working
The item did not work in beach mode. Passed over several items that my Garrett Ace 250 uncovered.

So far I’m very impressed
The biggest reason I bought the Garrett vortex vx9, it is American made and Garrett has been in business for a long time. I have only used it for a short time and I don’t have any regrets. Garrett listens to their customers and reacts to what they want in a detector. I can’t wait for my next big hunt.

Walk away from Garrett Detectors
Major problems with this detector. Do yourself a favor and go watch videos by Calabash Digger on YouTube. On the most recent updates, there are still problems with this detector, locking in on signals and then identifying anything else as the same VDI.

Boxed in the USA assembled in Mexico parts made in China.
I mostly doing this review to correct some misinformation Garrett is a US company but the devices are not made in the USA. Garrett has lied about this for years. Parts made in China, most assembledin Mexico and then boxed usually in the US. They've even gone as far as to use the made in the USA that was on the boxes that are made in the USA like the machine is. A few years ago now a law was passed that they're not allowed to say made in the USA unless every part is made in assembled in the USA. Even after this they went on selling their items like they were made in the USA. White's electronics was the last.
