My "check engine" light has been on for a while now, and I finally decided I'd like to do something about it, but didn't want to waste money at a dealership or spend too much just to read the error codes. I picked this one up on sale, and am very happy I did. This OBDII scanner did exactly what I needed it to, and it took less than 5 minutes. It does not need a battery, so I never need to worry about whether or not it will power up, and the user interface is very easy to navigate. I was easily able to read the codes (I wrote them down so I could research how to fix them properly), and I was easily able to clear them with the unit. I spent an additional 15 minutes just sitting in my truck, playing with all of the features this unit has; I was able to run real-time diagnostics, see battery voltage, coolant temp, exhaust readings, etc. I am very happy with this purchase, and highly recommend having one around to be better educated if/when you've got to bring your vehicle in for service.

Very easy to handle and clear to read.

We haven’t used this yet but it seems well-constructed and is a practical size. Will update back whenever we’ve tried it out but want to have it on hand since it’s useful to know the error whenever a check engine light is triggered

I have tried on 3 different vehicles now and it has come back with the codes for the check engine light. Seems to be a nice little tool that wont break the bank.

This OBD2 Scanner is very user friendly and cheap.

Simple to use scanner. i have used many over the years and this one is super simple. easy to clear codes if needed and tells you the code that popped up. my wife with no experience was able to scan once i showed her where the OBD port was.

This reader doesn't have a lot of the functionality and features of higher end ones, but it's also a fraction of the price. And at this price point, anything that works consistently is a fair deal, and it does that. It's functional and you can read codes, but things like having a short cord and no case is where the budget level is noticeable. If you need a barebones unit though, this one is hard to beat at its pricepoint and is absolutely a good value.
