I don't understand all the negative reviews for this book, it sort of makes me think that maybe we read different books, because I absolutely, positively loved this book. What's more; is that even without a bunch of sex scenes thrown in you could still clearly feel the tenderness and love slowly building between these two characters. Lily who had vowed a long time ago that she was never going to marry a farmer. Jessie who had always thought that his type of women would be a tall, blonde who has long legs. But it's funny how things change when the right person walks into your life unexpectedly and turns your life unside-down.Jesse was a total gem, always so patient while biding his time waiting for Lily's heart to heal, before he made his move. The constant banner between these two was totally hilarious, and I loved every minute of it. He would constantly goad Lily into doing things she despised, by making it into a competition she just couldn't resist.Lily is a strong woman to go through what happened to her and still hold her head high. The scene at the church where she thanked everyone and then gave Rachel and Dylan their dues was brillant! I love a woman who's not afraid to speak her mind when someone has done her wrong, and Lily did it with so much style and grace. When she meets Jesse for the first time, I had to laugh at the way she stood up and blasted him. And no matter how badly she treated him, he still hung around like everything she did and said went right over his head.I also loved both of their families. They were all so warm and loveable, just like all families should be. A tight knit family full of love and loyalty always keeps the readers more interested in the story, as far as I'm concern..I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, clean romance story with heart!

I have read 10 Or more of your books, I have not seen a single bad story, some I read two times ,some are kinda slow starting out, but I up with the story .Thanks for all stories

This is one of the earlier works of Carolyn Brown. I could see her development as a writer in this book. The main character, Lily, leaves her groom at the alter on her wedding day. Devastated by his betrayal, she is shuffled off to her college roommate's hometown to recuperate. She promises herself that in 30 days she will be functioning again and well past the grieving phase.While staying in a trailer in Oklahoma, she meets Jesse. He is the antithesis of everything she is looking for in a man. He is the " never in a million years " guy. He lives the lifestyle that she swore as a teenager to never, ever do.Their relationship starts off shaky and there are some communication breakdowns that need to be worked out. But eventually Lily and Jesse learn they are perfect for each other. He is a gentleman to her, and she has all the qualities of the wife he has waited for all his life. There will be ex drama. (They always look better when they are with someone else)Lily and Jesse bicker. This is one of the qualities I love about Carolyn Brown. The dialogue is spicy, sassy. Her metaphors and euphemisms are always razor sharp and spot on. If you have read her other books, this couple is mild. But you will love them still.

Lily’s story definitely starts off with a blast. She experiences betrayal, hurt, anger, depression, grief and then resolution. In the process she meets Jesse who becomes a friend and then more. The story is predictable but lots of fun. You have to laugh at some of her antics. Easy, fun read that ha$ a happy ending.

Carolyn Brown can always be counted on for 5 star love stories. Jesse and Lily developed a beautiful love story out of the ashes of what Lily thought was her broken heart. But Dylan had never really had her heart! A truly touching and emotional book.

I loved this book! The characters were authentic, down-home people, the kind I wish were in my own life right now. Lily and Jesse were of good character and recognized that in each other. I loved her strength and sassiness, loved the way he dealt with it and how respectfully he treated her. I gave it 4 stars because of the antagonists - Rachel, Dylan, and Amber. Once they were history, they should have been seen but not heard; on second thought, I should qualify that with a 'maybe'. This was cleansing, and I truly hope there is a sequel. Good job, Carolyn Brown!

Another absolutely fantastic book.There's Romance love hate and family's and lots of fun. The betrayal of her bridegroom with her best friend is very hard but it opens up for the future and lovely things to happen. Fabulous

I thoroughly enjoyed this book it was so different to what I normally read I’ve never read anything by this author before I loved the two main characters they were really really good together what would’ve made it special an epilogue I love to read an update a few years down the line.

Great story well written, loved the plot and would definitely recommend.Ending maybe a little rushed and given their respective families I can't see the ending actually happening but still loved it.

A story of a little heartbreak, a huge friendship and a magnificent love story ... loved it, heartwarming, beautifully simple, no x-rated descriptions, perfect x

I have no idea where this lovely author gets all her ideas from. She always makes you feel good and happy
