It's sturdy and very well made. It's quite heavy, which is a good thing because it doesn't tip over easily, even if lightly bumped. It's also adjustable, so you can change the height and the angle of viewing. The base, legs, and holding arms are made of a good-quality metal. I'm not sure if the book support is wood or a thick, heavy plastic with a wood grain. I truly can't tell, but whichever it is, it is thick and durable. Tl;dr: This is a great book holder! 10/10 Highly recommend! Review: Well built and designed - This book stand is really great - it's adjustable in height and angle. I used this to hold a handwritten journal so I could type it out and it was perfect for that.

Well built and designed
This book stand is really great - it's adjustable in height and angle. I used this to hold a handwritten journal so I could type it out and it was perfect for that.

Excellent product, heartily recommended.
A fantastic product. Sturdy, useful and space saving. I love to study when I'm having my meals and it fits my needs beautifully. Easy to mount a small lamp on it (commonly used on music stands). I'm glad I purchased it and plan to purchase another sometime soon.

Good tool for neck pain but one component broke immediately
A good sturdy compact item that helps an elderly family member avoid neck pain from looking down at mail and reading materials. Easier to use if not folding and unfolding because that action takes some force. One star deducted because spring action on one of the page holders broke as soon as I touched it coming out of the box. It still has some function in holding pages down but not with the spring force on that side.

My husband loves this stand! His neck is not bothering him as much when he reads. Great heavy duty stand. If you read a lot, this is a great product!
