Best bag I’ve ever owned
I’m a super short guy (5’2”) and I’ve been trying to find a messenger bag that doesn’t look stupid on me for YEARS. It’s all about proportion, and regular size bags make me look like a little kid. Not attractive! This bag is just the right size and it fits everything I need. To give you an idea, I carry a 10.5” iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard, packable windbreaker, reusable tote, pouch with chargers/cables, power bank, umbrella, glasses case, scarf and gloves. There’s still room to spare. It’s surreal how much stuff I can fit in this thing despite it being very small (and it is VERY small — it’s about the size of a purse, so do keep that in mind if you don’t want that).

Great commuter bag.
Replaced by North Face backpack with this and so far am very happy. I cycle to work, around 20 miles per week and this bag has been great for that purpose. I usually carry my 13" laptop, a coffee flask (Zojirushi SM-KHE48BA Stainless Steel Mug), gym kit and lunch. All items fit and are well organized. Other reviewers say the bottle compartments are to small, however they fit the zojirushi flask well and it needs to be snug to hold your bottle upright. Love the colors of the bag, the flight version is a little more expensive than the classic bag, however the material is of a better quality. I went into REI and saw the basic black bag and the material was not as nice as this version. Overall very happy with the purchase.

lightweight and practical
I wanted a small, lightweight bag for work. It needed to carry everything I needed on a daily basis (work keys, water bottle, snacks, laptop, etc.) without being overly bulky or cumbersome.I chose the Flight over the Classic because of the weight difference. The interior pockets are a bit small for my water bottle (Swell) but it fits in the front compartment just fine. There is plenty of room for my 13" MacBook Pro, papers, etc. I like the small pockets for organization (including pen pockets!) and the side pocket is great for a wallet. The interior is indeed waterproof which is great if your drinks leak.Although the velcro on the front is noisy, I like that it causes the bag to "automatically" close if I don't feel like using the buckles or I am in a rush. My only real complaint is the color choices - the neon interior is a bit garish (it does make it easy to see things) and the blue buckles are somewhat childish looking.Overall, I highly recommend this bag!

Flexible in more ways than one
At first, I thought the soft, floppy feel of the bag would bother me as I generally prefer a bag that stiffly holds its shape, allowing for easy, one-handed clawing into a variety of pockets. As I’ve used the bag for multiple international trips already, I’ve found myself using it more and more.Being soft shelled allows me to quickly unpack the bag, then roll it up and stuff the whole thing in a carry on bag. After a couple times of that, I stopped unpacking the bag before rolling and stuffing it away.Despite its compact and space-saving construction, the amount this little thing can hold makes it feel like I’m walking around with a bag of holding. Laptop, iPad, iPhone, corresponding chargers, two Moleskin notebooks (5x8.25in), house/car/office keys, a weeks worth of medication, a Swiss Army knife, AND a light hoodie - items that spent the day in my bag. Finally, this is about the most intuitive, thoughtfully designed bag I’ve owned and as an obsessive compulsive male with a penchant for writing, the outdoors and being prepared, well... I’ve had a LOT of backpacks, messenger bags, duffel bags, briefcases, and suitcases. It’s not the best timbuk2 has ever made, but it’s in the top five best I’ve ever had.

Thought "Flight" Meant It'd Be Good for Air Travel, But It's Missing One Key Thing
It was partially my fault for not reading the description closely enough, but I expected a messenger bag with "flight" in its name would be well designed for air travel. This bag, alas, does not have a "trolley sleeve"--that bit of fabric on the back that lets you slide the bag over the handle of a rollie bag. So, it's not so great for plane trips. That's a deal-breaker for me. I'll be taking advantage of the free return on this one.Further, I don't so much like the shape of this bag. It seems short and fat to me.I already have a Timbuk2 bag that is just about perfect in every way, but I'm wearing it out. Unfortunately, Timbuk2 has discontinued that model and I'm struggling to find a good replacement.

Husband Absolutely Loves It
My husband has had the same timbuk2 bag for nearly 20 years. He always talked highly about the local company (we live in Oregon) and how great the quality was. I was pretty amazing at how well it lasted over the years! So I figured it was time for an update. I was super excited to find these online. I loved this color and design, and so did he. It made the perfect birthday gift. This bag was a bit bigger than expected (I guess he actually had a small), but it was still perfect for daily commute. These days he uses this bag to carry everything he needs on his daily treks with our toddler, including his bible. It gets pretty heavy, but the support from the bag and the padded shoulder piece really helps. I love the new and updated features this bag offers, and the quality is definitely is still there.

Great messenger bag for almost any situation
I owned Timbuktu bags in the old days when they were cavernous sacks without any structure. Had to abandon that when I started carrying a bag both on my bike and in professional situations. This one walks the line between great design and flexibility quite well. Note that the laptop area is un-padded, basically, and so I'm using a sleeve with pockets to give it more structure. It is very lightweight, and outer fixtures are not intrusive or bulky, though because they're orange they are prominent. There's velcro where there needs to be for quick closes, and a good number of pockets on the front panel. I would like to have pockets on the divider as well and a bit more structure, but that's personal preference. Haven't used it long enough to rate sturdiness definitively.

Have owned another messenger bag for 4 years by the same company which has been excellent - however this model is made with cheaper clips and has many less features. Would not have bought it if I knew it was so different to my original bag.

Almost perfect
Great size, thoughtful design love the colourway, lots of pockets to organize your crap, waterproof liner a huge sell for anyone who's active and living in rainy climes. Velcro for front flap is essential to keeping everything inside, but it is very loud. Probably worth buying some hook tape from fabric store and reducing exposed surface to cut down the hassle and noise; if you tear your bag open it feels like a clarion call to everyone around to stare at what the HELL you might be shredding. Shoulder strap has a fantastic catch to easily lengthen in a single dramatic gesture, but it's very fussy to re-shorten. And the shoulder strap clasp loosens easily by accident... so your laden carry-all messenger bag hangs way too low at most inconvenient times....like while riding a bike. Darnit. I want to give this a perfect score because it's got so much going for it. But 4/5 is still a recommend.

Great little bag
I needed a place to stow a small water bottle, a rain jacket, wallet, phone, maps, munchies, keys and hat. This all fit into this little bag. I never ventured out in the rain but believe it would hold up fine.Once I got used to the fact that my wallet wasn't in my back pocket (where its been for decades) I started to relax. The flap velcros down VERY securely and keeps the contents of the bag safe. Opening the bag does make a bit of noise (because of the velcro}.
