PointZeroPrecision Dual-Action 9cc Airbrush MAC Valve Crenelated - .2mm

I have recently stated airbrushing again after leaving it for awhile. Having misplaced my micron I needed a small detail airbrush for my last project and my Omni 4000 and my eclipse weren't cutting it so I decided to try the pz360 and we'll like the above reviews this was a delight to spray through. I was using Mr hobby/gunze paints and properly thinned with the compressor set 15-20 they laid down smoothly. I don't have a reason to use the Mac valve so I left it alone. I agree the seals might benefit being traded out to some more robust ones down the line but really I am not worried because of how solid the build quality is. It wasn't until I uncovered my iwata and a whole box of missing Medea paints that I compared the two side by side spraying actual airbrush paint and this held its own and I actually prefer it. I highly, highly recommend this for fine detail work. Use with a regulator and water trap if you are new to air brushing they are pretty essential for this type of brush. Also avoid pearls and metallic flake with those use a .35-.5 because even thinned will clog.Point zero has made a very solid tool that works as well if not better than my other airbrushes.

Ok, let me start this by saying, I own several Iwata and H&S airbrushes and have been painting for about 2 years. That being said, I bought 1 of the brushes to see just how good they could be and maybe I could use it for my "one to spray crap paints through"But I started using it as a dedicated primer airbrush. I then bought a water trap for it and tried shooting a new paint through that I wasnt sure about (E7) this brush sprays much nicer than I expected. The paint was iffy and I ended up not using it but the brush was really nice. It sprays even and very smooth.Now the shortcomings...The O-rings are a little soft and should be changed to a butyl or buna n type if you can find them. This is mainly for people who shoot a lot of lacquer or non acrylic paint. Even some acrylic cleaners seemed to soften it. Not a huge deal if you rinse the airbrush after using solvants. I wash after with iwata cleaner.The other shortfall but again, it's not a huge deal. The 3 I have now all have the same problem. The MAC Valve is very loose and is very notchy. Meaning that as you turn it it goes from not working to completely off very quickly. If they changed the thread to a fine thread mac valve it would help immensely. They also need to make the shaft longer so the valve will have more travel. If they did this it would be a much nicer airbrush.In summary this is a great brush for the money, even beating the Iwata Neo even though it is 4 times the price. I now use the neo for primer and the pointzero, and my Iwata eclipse for paint, my custom micron for clear coats.

My wife purchased this airbrush for me so that I could complete a project and I am pissed off. Which is no fault of this airbrush. I have been airbrushing for the last 10 years and specialize in detail portrait painting. I have over 30 airbrushes from all of major brands and have not been able to use any of them effectively due to deteriorating components, clogging, missing, you name it. The worst part is I have an Iwata Micron CM c+ that cost me over 700.00 with purchase of replacement parts that are unusable.Just as some of the reviews state if not for the markings you can not tell the difference from this airbrush and the Micron by looking. And the performance is exceptional considering the price you pay. I will be posting a follow up review on it's performance after I put it through it's paces but so far I am super impress with this airbrush.Update:After working with this airbrush for the last two weeks I can say without hesitation that I will be utilizing the PointZero airbrush for the remainder of my projects. Combining the performance of this airbrush with the price point and there just is no reason to buy any of the brand name brushes for me anymore. Add to it the fact that you can replace this entire airbrush for the price of brand name parts you can not lose with this airbrush. If you are just getting in to airbrushing or a seasoned veteran like myself this airbrush is a must have. The two I purchased have paid for themselves 20 times over with the first use. Save your money and still get the quality.

Far from a pro at air brushing. I make my own custom fishing lures. I just wanted something that would work good for what I need at a reasonable price because I am still learning. This airbrush gun works better than some of my $50 Master airbrush guns. After reading reviews and research I decided to buy one. Loved it soo much I bought two more. I had a guy on one of the forums for lure making ask if I use Iwatas and I told him nope just cheap ones I am not in to make money. Why shell out a few hundred for one airbrush gun when I can produce great fishing lures with this one that catch fish!

This is my third and most favorite airbrush. I'm still a beginner in my book, but this is a great brush for my arsenal. I really like the way the cup feeds so efficiently. It's not the easiest to clean, and your third party replacement parts (mostly the nozzel) may not work with it, but what does is great. It also comes well sealed at the critical parts.
