Excellent text.
The recommended text book for my Hieroglyph course. Well laid out and easy to read. However, in my opinion, hieroglyphs are not something you can self teach, you really need an experienced teacher.

Very good!
This book is excellent at taking you through the stages of coming to terms with basic hieroglyphs and the regular exercises in testing your progress are very helpful and rewarding!

A decent action adventure film
A decent action film, worth watching. Try not to notice the size ratio of the humans to the gods keeps changing. Plenty to keep you entertained.

really good book for aspiring egyptologists
A really good book-I have tried learning from others- this is the best. I will be visiting the ashmolean museum in oxford a lot more now to read all those inscriptions. Just the ticket.Only criticism is some symbols are a bit small on the printed page but otherwise cant criticise.

a great refresher course
I learned ME over 20 years ago using Gardiner's Grammar and am now relearning for an MA course. Knowing how complex Gardiner is I wanted to start with a good general short course I could use by myself . This is a fantastic way to learn relevant phrases and vocabulary very quickly without getting bogged down in the grammar. However I started already knowing the basics which made this book much easier to use. I will also have to refer to Gardiner again for more thorough coverage of grammar and a wider vocabulary for academic study, but this introduction will certainly have helped.

A great first book for Hieroglyphys.
Well written book on a difficult subject. It allows the reader to work on his/her own pace. At last I have a book that will allow me to gain some insight in a vast area of knowledge.

Dear Tut, How have you been?
If you really have time on your hands, have a go at this - but be prepared to concentrate! Definitely for the Egyptophile. Easily written and very interesting, but I had enough trouble with French and you will find there is a lot less opportunity to practise your new skills by writing to friends.

Not for the faint hearted as very much like a text book
This looks like heavy going but a topic I have always wanted to know about. Price suited and the book was in good nick and it seems to give a lot of information so I am happy enough with this purchase.
