Follow the directions
I have used this unit dozens of times and itmakes awesome ice cream if you are able to read and follow directions.....I would be venture that the negative comments are from not being able to follow directions

Super awesome ice cream maker!!
I’ve been wanting to try making ice cream myself for a while. Then I came across this machine which looked very promising. So I placed the order and when the order came I was very pleased with how it looked. After starting to make it I liked it more and more. I first had to freeze he metal pot in the fridge for 12 hrs. Very easy and efficient I feel. The material is stainless steel. Very strong and sturdy. Uses common home materials nothing too simple or fancy. Simple instructions manual very easy to follow. Simple and easy to clean too not too many parts or gadgets. Overall I’m super satisfied product was exactly how it was described.

Read the instructions before finding reasons that it doesn't work LOL
I bought this ice cream maker because of the price. I was excited to try it and dumped all the ingredients into the frozen bowl. I couldn't figure out why the paddle seemed too big and wouldn't turn. I quickly realized that the cream and liquid had already started freezing to the sides of the container making the diameter of the container smaller. That's what I get for not reading instructions. You have to get the paddle turning and pour the ingredients into the hole in the lid. Oh is that what the hole is for? After a good laugh and a huge mess; I completed my first attempt at making ice cream. For the price it actually works pretty well.

Total waste of money
This ice cream machine is awful the churner does not turn because it is too big for the container. Total waste of money. Threw it away. SMH

Works fine but the timer on it is very loud and annoying. no option to not use the timer . You get what you pay for .

Remember to freeze tub for at least 24 hours before using
Great price my kids loved helping and the ice cream came out great would recommend this product
