A must buy for everyone & save money not calling a plumber. Additional helpful information please read my review.
This is an amazing tool & when you push it and get the feel of it, you can easily push it without flopping all over the place. The feel of it feels like you driving a straight rod through the pipes. When you hit the plugged area or even roots, then you back off alittle & go forward, in & out, in & out & it will go through just about anything. This tool has some weight behind it & will definitely drain your plugged sewer line. Now a different tool to have is a sewer bladder & it will also clear you line & I have used that with success, but if the plug keeps coming back then use this flat rod. After using this rod one can follow up with a sewer bladder to wash it through, that is what I do. Now as for roots in the line, use "foaming root killer" or "rock salt" see on youtube for info. both are safe for plumbing. There is also a maintenance of flushing a handful of rock salt down toilet every two or three weeks to prevent any roots from ever coming back (see youtube). Once again this 100 foot flat rod is amazing & is a must to have. Yes I also mentioned sewer bladder & root killer products, because the goal here is not to call a plumber & make sure you have the right tools for a successful outcome & save some money from a half crooked plumbing industry. Yes they have a racket running where they unplug your line right where it is blocked & pull it out. They purposely don't go all the way to city, as they may tell you they did, but shortly after that your line is plugged up because they only went 40ft where as my line is 67.5ft with roots in it. They suggest the power wash $1300 & then say the foolproof method is re-line or redo your pipes for 10K. I have been through all of this many times before getting educated on what was happening here. The last time a plumber came out he said he could not go any further than 40 ft it stopped on him, but it cleared the drain. 2 days later plugged up again, but this time I used the bladder but plugged main line came back every 2 days. What really worked was this 100ft flat rod. Twice it stopped on me over 40 ft but with a quick short in/out, in/out, in/out it broke through until it ended at 67.5 ft. to the city line. Now the plumbers electric cleanout with sharp blades on the end & all that horse power could no longer go anymore and stopped at 40ft, where I was able to use this manual flat rod & punch through to 67.5 ft. That tells you that something is crooked going on here & that is why I'm so glad I purchased this flat rod. Last I should no longer have anymore major problems because I'm using root killing (as mentioned earlier), these roots died off a week later & washed away. If anything ever gets stuck, it will only be soft build up & the flat rod or bladder should work every time. Thank you for reading my review, I posted it because the flat rod is a great product & it really works. I also hope any additional information I provided will help you & most of all help you if you are getting robbed by the plumbing industry over & over again** Update** - I noticed in reviews some say this product will not make the twist & turns in their lines. I did not experience this because I was going through the main line 4" with one turn to get there. The tip on the 3/4 flat rod is 1.25" I don't see any detailed information on smaller lines & how many inches the line is, when using the 3/4" flat rod. Now for smaller lines there is a 1/2" same produce/ name, not sure how big the end tip is? I would only guess it would be more flexible at 1/2. Anyone who can give information on 1/2 flat rod would also be helpful, but as for the 3/4 flat rod I would guess it is only good for 3"-4"+ diameter lines or unless you have a 1.5" straight line with no turns.

The Cobra: Plumber's Asp or Angelic Snake?
The answer is angelic snake. We had one of these for at least a decade and it had proven a worthy sewer serpent a number of times. A few months ago, though, our lines clogged again, probably near the orange trees we kept forgetting to water during the summer. We bought root killer and flushed it (once a day, that's as often as things would go down) and found slight relief. After a week, when the roots would be beginning to die, my mate took our old sewer rod up on the roof and started grinding it down the vent. He worked a few hours, but couldn't get the sewer snake/rod/tape to go any further. So we resumed putting root killer down the john and trying the snake every few days.We left the snake on the roof, sticking out of the vent. One day, my mate yelled something obscene but cheerful -- he thought he'd broken through. But no. The tape had been eaten away by the root killer. So we went to Lowe's and Home Depot and nobody knew what a 'sewer tape' was. They had snakes, nothing big enough or long enough, mind you, and every place told us we couldn't do it ourselves. Finally, a plumbing supply store told us it was probably an impossible task (even though we'd done it successfully a decade ago) but that he could order a 100 foot sewer rod and it would cost something in the $140 range. Since the old one cost at least $70, that seemed reasonable. But we didn't order it. Instead, I booted to Amazon and, expecting nothing, found exactly what we used to have. The Cobra 100 foot flat sewer rod, pictured here. And it was $50! $50 -- not even $70!We used it successfully -- just another hour of sweating and god-knows-what hit the main city sewer line. Then we hosed it down and rolled it up. We're putting a new dishwasher in this weekend and the tape will be used to clean main line from kitchen to the far side of the house. We've done that in our older home a number of times over the years when it seems like a dishwasher isn't cleaning as well as it ought to. It always does the trick. It's a great tool. And it's toilet humor! And the price is fantastic -- who could ask for more?

Great product does what it’s designed to do
Brought the cobra flat sewer rod due to my sewer draining slow ....had a blockage about 70feet under my house the rod cleared it easily ...only down side was it’s awkward to use I found laying out down was extremely hard to use so made a stand so it can be slowly unwound now works awesome and much easier to use and easier to clean too...quality is good and will save me money over the long time I give 5 stars but takes patience to learn to use

Bueno funcional...
Si me funcionó muy bien. Solo por qué mi tubería de drenaje que destape es lineal sin codos ni vueltas ya que si la tubería tiene algún coso abuelita se atora y no avanza.

The snake works fine.
The discs on the end were very tight and had to be loosed up so they would rotate. Makes it a lot easier passing through corners in a sewer line. Other than that good value for price.
