Six of Crows Leigh Bardugo Collection 2 Books Bundle (Six of Crows: Book 1, Crooked Kingdom: Book 2) : Leigh Bardugo: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Recommend - Recently got back into shadow and bone, I've been meaning to get into the books since the series was released but never did until a few days ago, the books are amazing. Absolutely recommend Review: Just the absolute best - “There was no part of him that was not broken, that had not healed wrong, and there was no part of him that was not stronger for having been broken“ These books are amazing to put it simply. Kaz is everything you could possibly want in a morally grey character (let’s be honest the more morally grey the better) he’s ruthless and powerful but also utterly loyal and funny too which really speaks to the amazing writing when developing his type of character. It’s so refreshing to see a character hold so much power over others whilst using his physical disability to his own strength, so many novels depict their main characters in ‘prime health/fitness’ and like nothing could ever impede them which can easily become tiresome. Kaz and Inej were so beautifully created and for two people that barely touch they have some of the most intimate chemistry I’ve ever come across! They’re displayed as 2 sides of the same coin. You see Inej values faith whereas Kaz values money and power, or where Inej values action, Kaz will prioritise strategy making them a perfect match. The friendship between each and every one of the crows makes it even a heartwarming read despite some of the themes throughout and once again the sarcasm is just 👏🏼👏🏼(thank you Jesper bby). The twists throughout make the books impossible to put down, and believe me if you think you understand the plan, you don’t Across these two novels there is so much I want to say and so many people I want to talk about but I try to avoid spoilers within my reviews as much as possible. Lastly, I love that Grisha power is created from science, and how they utilise the elements to be able to ‘amplify’ it into power! Although the characters don’t overlap, I would recommend reading the trilogy before these books as it does allow for deeper understanding. Overall, this duology is amazing and I just think it deserves every bit of hype it receives.

Excellent
I read Bardugo's 'Grisha Trilogy' before 'Six of Crows' - whilst I thoroughly enjoyed the former, the latter is a step up in terms of character, narrative and storytelling. Told from multiple perspectives, it features a diverse cast of characters that feels natural and engrossing from the start. Most multiple-POV books have a character I'm not interested in reading and want the chapter to be done so I can get back to the ones I like - not so with 'Six of Crows'. I was interested in reading everyone's POV chapters. Bardugo weaves a complicated plot without losing the reader, and blending in organic character development and struggles in excellent fashion. The duology definitely shows her developing skill as an author and I look forward to more of her work.

This set was a gift for my nephew. He only asked for the first two but was delighted to receive the whole saga. Looks interesting.

Good gift idea
I have started reading these myself and thought they would be a gift for someone. It's like oceans 11 meets game of thrones

Fantastic
Absolutely brilliant, think these stories are even better than Shadow and Bone. Great characters who are all equally important to the story and have development throughout

This series is one of those that'll keep you hooked up every page and every line. Has a good mix of action, adventure, suspense, humor, romance. The title of the book is itself something different and quite attractive. The plot and setting: The setting in Ketterdam and its surroundings will absorb you into the story ( the gambling areas, the merchant areas, the Ice court, Hellgate etc ). The backbone of the book is ordinary- a heist. But the way the idea was executed was brilliant! The characters: Beautifully "crafted". Each of the six main characters have their own secret pasts, are intelligent and differ from each other widely. The characterization done for each of them is pretty good. The dialouges: The dialouges are well written, convey what the speaker wants to express and the short italic quotes are new and interesting. All I want to say is, do not miss this wonderful series. It started off with something and ended up differently. WORTH READING...
