What is recommended to cover the back of these speakers once you have your cut-out and mounting figured out?

I mounted mine into an angled ceiling cavity which had existing insulation. This provided enough sound deadening material but the insulation does not touch the actual speakers themselves. These are by far the best sounding speakers I've ever installed, so the installation seemed to have worked well.

Is it ok to pair these 50 watt speakers with a denon 95 watt avr2400 receiver?

I have them as rear speakers on a Denon 125, and they work well.

Does the horn pivot down?

No the horn does not pivot at all.
