Durable, good for my elderly mother who can't drink without straws. Don't collapse as fast as others
Mom is 81 and has trouble drinking without a straw so we keep a good supply of paper straws on hand for home and for travel. These straws from Hiware seem to hold up better than some of the other brands we've tried. Some are stronger, but for the cost, these are a good value for us. They are not too thin and they don't collapse too quickly. Of course we still have to replace the straw in her water glass a few times a day but about half as often as thinner straws. The bright colors appeal to her as well.

CAN'T BELIEVE I'M REVIEWING STRAWS BUT THEY ARE THAT GOOD
I'm surprised I'm motivated to review the straws but I make shakes daily and it takes a half hour or so to drink them casually on my ride to work. So I've resisted paper thinking they would not hold up. These do! I was sick recently and needed to drink fluids all day - I had one in my glass I refilled with water all day long and they didn't get soggy. I'm sold. I'm shocked that these hold up for extended use and don't fall apart. I was guilted into buying paper straws after my niece told me about a turtle-plastic straw 'incident' that is all over social medial apparently - so I had to do my part and at least try to use paper. I'm happy to report - the turtles in my neighborhood are at least safe. A definite buy.

Doesn’t feel gross!
These feel great - not like the gross cardboard-y ones at restaurants that feel awful on your lips. These are smooth and feel like plastic (but aren’t!). They are loose (not individually wrapped) in a box. I put mine in a Prodyne straw dispenser, and they fit great. I use the straws for homemade sodas, and I use them as stirrers, then to drink from - and even after the rugged abuse, they hold up and don’t bend or get soggy. Plus it’s fun to color-coordinate the straws with the drinks :-)

Not your father's paper straws!
The paper straws I remember from a decade or two ago were sad: thing paper that got soggy very quickly. They were just unpleasant to use. I've used a few plastic straws since then, acquired at restaurants and fast food places, and never been too impressed either. On a whim, I bought these instead of plastic when I needed some new straws. I was prepared to be disappointed but instead was pretty impressed. The thickness of the straw means it doesn't turn into an immediate soggy mess. If you linger over a drink, you can still use the straw after an hour or two. I mean, I wouldn't try reusing them, but as a single-use paper straw I have no qualms with their performance as compared to their plastic counterparts.

Love these colorful straws
Sometimes it's the little things that make a difference...like which color straw will I use today? Great paper straws. Very colorful. Dye does not bleed or fade. Sturdy one straw can last up to 8 hours in a glass. Recyclable. I've been using these straws for over 3 years now. I love them. Love that they will not hurt animals, marine life or the environment.

Environmentally safe, durable straw
I have purchased Hiwire rainbow striped straws 200 pack six times. They are eco-friendly, use food safe ink and do not fall apart even when used in warm liquids or stand in liquid for extended times. They come in 8 colors. And best ofall, they donate 100% of the proceeds of the order to OCEANA - a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the oceans!

Don't get soggy
We started using paper straws and silicone straws after realizing how bad plastic straws are for the ocean. The silicone straws are okay, but with littles in the house, we were going through LOTS of straws and I hate hand washing straws. These paper ones are perfect! They don't get soggy - even if they're in milk for awhile, and they're sturdy enough to throw in a bag and take out and about with you, so you can use them in restaurants too. LOVE. We are on our second box now.

Sturdy and Great Alternative to Plastic
In an effort to reduce our plastic footprint, we are switching out a lot of our plastic disposable items. I was skeptical about these straws but I’ve used these for over a month now and I love them. We make our own iced coffee and tend to go through a couple of these per day.The pros: they’re pretty cute, they feel thick and durable...a lot thicker than I expected actually...and even after hours of being submerged in liquid they don’t breakdown or fray. Oh also, there’s no weird tastes to them. The cons: although they don’t breakdown when submerged in liquid, they tend to get a bit weaker the longer they sit in liquid and so stirring with the straw can’t happen because it starts to bend. But this isn’t really an issue for us.
