Great tool, and v3 is an improvement on the original!
I really like this tool - it works great with the other stuff trueCABLE makes, but I'm also sure it would work with more generic options. It also feels extremely robust and overall well made.I wasn't sure what the v3 added (since it's not listed on Amazon), so I reached out to trueCABLE and they gave me an immediate and really helpful response! Was super impressed with their customer service. In case anyone is interested, the v3 has the following improvements:- The new feature and biggest difference is the ability to cut cable and crimp external ground collars for shielded cables- Another new feature is the ergonomic spring loaded anti-slip handle that returns to a ready position upon cycle completion- Can use with unshielded, shielded (internal and external ground), pass through, load bar style push in plugs- Self-adjusting cable stripper to accommodate cable jacket ODs from 6.00 to 8.00mm- Trims conductors from the nose of pass-through plugs accurately and automatically, even staggered conductor plugs

Great
Recently purchased another crimp tool to do what this one does. The first tool worked okay but does not cut the wires close enough before needing a Stanley knife to get the tips. This RJ45 Crimp Tool from trueCable works great, just apply pressure and wallah the wires are snipped off, once in a while the farthest wire on either end might not get snipped completely but they will break off easily by touching the wire protruding from the end of the cutters. NO need for wire cutters! Love It and wish it had been my first purchased tool!Do not purchased a cheaper version just to save a couple dollars like I did you will end up doing a lot more work.Very well made product, sturdy/heavy, easy to handle. Would recommend to anyone running ethernet.

Nice tool nice brand
It's a nice tool, good quality and what I've gotten from the brand so far has been nice. The only downside is it's not compatible with normal plugs so I still have to carry my old crimp tool as well but it's always good to have a spare. That is literally my only disappointment as it a beautiful crimper for passed through connectors. Plus it's green so I can tell all my green tools apart from everybody else so nobody else is allowed to get green tools. I say that jokingly but I am trying to get only green tools so I can spot them and know they're mine. Unfortunately there's a certain company with green... in their name who is now selling orangely and yucky brownly colored tools and has not updated their product photos, thankfully truecable has come out with some comparable items that are actually green.

Double-check the RJ45 is seated properly before crimping!
Used this a number of times with the TruCable outdoor CAT6 cable, and it works nicely, but you really have to be careful when crimping. I use the TruCable pass-through connectors (with the outdoor stuff you almost have to) and twice it bent the shielded RJ45 housing when I pressed down. Make absolutely sure you have it in the slot properly before crimping otherwise you'll end up starting over. It doesn't give you a lot of positive feedback (or firm lock) that the connector is seated exactly as it should be.Overall, I still like this crimper, and it is well-built and feels like it'll last forever.

It does the job wonderfully.
I am amazed. I saw it on a picture and though it was much bigger than it actually is. It is indeed handy and well made. Value for money is ok, could be better, but overall I am satisfied with this little piece of technology!

Works good with the right connectors
My first time using this new tool I noticed the RJ-45 connector wasn't going in all the way. I thought maybe the tool was defective but I soon realized the pass through connectors I was using was the problem. It's hard to describe but I have to shave a small amount off the tip of the connector so it will go all the way in. I have only used one brand of pass through connectors so others may work better then what I bought. As far as the tool it works beautifully. I'm glad I bought this tool. I highly recommend it.

Better than my Hopes, it actually works!
This is one of the "New" push through RJ-45 crimpers. The RJ-45 Ethernet plugs have to be bought specific for Cat-5 or Cat-6 since they are different wire hole sizes and are not compatible with each other regardless of bro science. But if you get the correct plugs they work very nicely and make a perfect connection every time. Cuts the 8 wires off at the same time as it crimps the jack into the plug. The datasheets for the Plugs on this crimpers manufacturer are very helpful and loaded with physical dimension information, phi is not just phi its an actual measurement. The Manufacturer has a very healthy and loaded YouTube channel with lots of updated usage information. They don't go over the importance of the proper Cat-5 or Cat-5 push through jack size to match the Ethernet wire your using Cat-5 is not the same size as Cat-6 wires.. but they may eventually get there.

Handles all the variations of RJ45 connectors
I am loving this crimp tool as we end up getting different brands and styles of RJ45 connectors at various job sites. I can remove the flush cut blade if working with connectors that aren't pass-through connectors. I can "disable" the presser bar compressor if working with connectors that don't use a presser bar (some CAT6 and CAT7 RJ45 connectors). I can easily strip the outer jacket off the various sizes of CAT cables to prep them. I can even compress the shield collar around the cabling as well without needing different tools. When co-workers run into issues with the RJ45 connectors sent to a job-site, I am able to keep moving forward without any hassles with this crimp tool.
