Seemed as good or better than the actual Lego Technics kits I have built
I have only been building Legos since about Christmas when my brother gave me a Technics Mars Rover. Built that one quick (I have a background in building 1/24 scale auto models so that helps some) and soon after bought and built the Technics Lunar Outpost rover and Technics Unimog, all successfully with all features operating as they should. So with that limited experience, it was with some trepidation that I ventured into third-party manufacturer territory, something I was warned against by my brother/mentor/tormentor. But he was mostly referring to knockoff sets mimicking genuine Lego sets and this engine kit didn't seem to be anything like that. Be that as it may, I immediately noticed some things about this Nifeliz engine kit that I liked, starting with them supplying small boxes to keep and sort your pieces in! Printed little fold up boxes. Really neat. Also immediately apparent was the quality of the packaging and instruction manual. First rate all the way. The parts seemed identical to Lego Technic parts in every way, same familiar "snap" when mating up, seemingly same plastic formulation, perhaps a bit more glossy in finish, and the fit was just as good if not better. Design of components and subcomponents seemed first class and everything seemed to fit as it should. As for the build, no surprises, all parts present and accounted for, instructions for the most part easily followed and executed. The hardest part of assembly was attaching the heads to the engine block, the first one wasn't that big of a deal (keep in mind you have to insert all four (round) pistons on that side into the (square) cylinders and then maneuver the head and block around to actually get the contact points to match and mate up), but attaching the second head to the block/first head assembly was a bit trying...as in trying it multiple times before I got it right. The instructions themselves were clear and well illustrated, again as good or better as Lego itself, but with the understanding that sometimes you do have to study the illustrations carefully, especially when joining pieces with multiple contact areas and connectors. And of course you have to be able to follow instructions to begin with as with any of these block building kits. When completed, the engine does rotate, the crankshaft moving the pistons up and down via connecting rods, the camshafts (4 total) rotating and opening simulated valves, all that done via chains assembled by the user (no big deal, just a bit monotonous). I did clear a bit of an obstruction to the #1 piston when I attached the first head to the block and noticed it when rotating the crankshaft, but I neglected to note if it was the same on the other head because frankly its just too tough to get together to trifle with a detail like that. Consequently there does seem to be a slight notch in the rotation where I imagine the rod passes that obstruction (a "cross" connector pushed in just a bit too far) and that might be a result of my negligence in not clearancing the second head assembly. It could also be that the funny little horizontal fan that is in the intake manifold valley is jamming up as its driveshaft and u-joints seem to be binding and this seems to happen at the place the "notch" occurs in the rotation. Either way, with just a little more care or forewarning during assembly I have no doubt this engine would spin over more perfectly but it is adequate as it is now. All in all, it took me probably 40 hours to build, working an hour or two at a time over the course of a couple weeks, and it does look cool on the shelf. The working and moving features are all very interesting and well worth the effort to put the thing together. With those details in mind I would suggest buying with confidence when considering this engine kit, and if the rest of Nifeliz's products are as well designed and buildable as this one is, I am looking forward to building more. Now I am wondering how some of these other "MOC" creators' kits are!

Teaching V8 basics
This NifeliZ V8 Engine is one of the most fun and complicated builds I've done. I've built lots of trains, cars, buildings and Star Wars sets. This ranks up there with the best of them. I can't wait to use it to explain V8 Engines to my grandsons. Cranking it makes the pistons go up and down as well as the valves opening and closing. It's a very well engineered piece. It's also a very difficult build but the instructions are fantastic. You'll have a real sense of accomplishment when it's complete. Unlike most of my builds I only found one thing that didn't fit just right. The top cover didn't set just right so I made a minor correction - I reversed the blue pins in step 192 and in step 371, now the top sets squarely on the red and blue pins. (see pictures 1 & 2). One other thing I changed was the gray piece used in steps 608 thru 611. Ascetically I felt the pieces should be all black. (see picture 3) Hope this is helpful - enjoy your build. NifeliZ V8 Engine - NF 10287 followup: I bought this kit a few weeks ago and have had a fun time building and then tweaking it to make it my own version. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with this kit, I just can’t stop myself from modifying things after I’ve built them. It’s just more fun. So what I want to share is some of the functional and cosmetic modification I made to my NifeliZ V8. I have already showed 2 things in my initial review. Here are a few more: 1) The top has a back cover that is only held on in three places. Sometimes when I would accidentally pull too hard it would slip off. So I added an additional attach point that makes it a little sturdier. See Picture (1 Engine Cover) 2) The Frame structure for the gears on the front of the engine seemed like it needed a little extra support so I looked for a way to add support as well as improve cosmetics. I decided modifying pipes and locations of what I think are the fuel filters would improve the structure. One mod was very easy - I just had to remove a small yellow disc. The left side required a complete redo. It was worth it now the frame is secured to the heads on both sides and the filters are in better alignment. See Picture (2 Fuel Filters) 3) The next few things I did are strictly cosmetic to satisfy my need for balance. There are a lot of pieces that stick out and look like they should connect to something. See Pictures (3 Engine Front 1 and 4 Engine Front 2). I decided to cap them off so they would look more finished to me. There was also an elbow that looked like it should go somewhere so I added a section that looks like a pipe. See Pictures (5 Cover Off 1 and 6 Cover Off 2) 4) I add a couple of cosmetic pieces to the rear of the engine also. See Picture (7 Engine Rear) Let me emphasize there is nothing wrong with this engine. I just love kits where I can have fun making simple changes that makes it seem better to me and gives me my own unique version. Find your own little tweaks and enjoy the fun.

Super Fun
Sooo good! This thing is so much fun. Great quality pieces, very clear instructions, and neatly organized into manageable sections. You get a lot of bang for your buck here compared to Legos, and these are just as good. There were a couple of parts that were difficult to snap together, but what do you expect. Totally worth it. Can’t wait to get another!

Impressive and detailed kit but build can be frustrating
This is the 3rd set from Nifeliz I've built and am pretty happy with the result. First, the good part. The kit arrived in a nice, high-quality box with an equally high-quality build instruction booklet. The pieces are high quality and having pieces for only a few steps separated into smaller individual bags is something I wish the other block sellers to adopt. This is the first set from Nifeliz where I did not have any missing parts. So that's a big plus even though for the other 2 sets that did have a few missing parts, Nifeliz customer service was great to work with. Now the not so good part. As with the other sets from Nifeliz, the build can be very frustrating and difficult when having to line up large sections with a large number of meeting points (pins and cross axles) that have to line up perfectly. For this kit, I had to build and take apart and rebuild and take apart multiple times when having to attach the cylinder head block due to having to line up the pistons and push-rods into each of the cylinder slots. I had to juggle holding the main engine assembly upside down while attempting to line up those cylinder heads to line up and slide into those cylinder slots while trying to line up the 8 cross axle pins and connectors on each bank of 4 cylinders. It was SUPER frustrating and having to retry that portion of the assembly multiple times really killed the joy of building this set. Having said that, I still think the finished product is pretty awesome but I don't think I would rush to build another one again. The one extra thing I wish this kit had or if Nifeliz could offer, would be a hot-v twin turbo kit for this V8 engine kit. That would take it to the next level for sure. So, if you have lots of patience, and time, and love technic sets like this, get it. For the price, you get a lot for your money.

Great quality, especially for the price.
Just ordered and delivered, still early in the build. It's packaged differently than Lego, but once you understand how/why they package some things the way they do, it starts to make some sense and reduce the confusion. That being said, the box, parts and manual quality are top notch. For the price, this was an awesome purchase.

Realistic Engine Detail
This V8 model engine was both complex and rewarding to build. It showed excellent engineering and attention to detail that resulted in an engine that reflected a realistic operation of an internal combustion engine. The building instructions were detailed and quite clear to follow. The parts were well made and none were missing. The hand crank worked to move the pistons within the cyclinders and to rotate the camshaft that allowed the intake and exhaust valves to open and close. I highly recommend this model over such brands as MouldKing whose engineering leaves much to be desired.

I don't like it as much as everyone else seems to
It's honestly kind of meh. The kit itself is high quality and nearly that of what the Danish fellas have been putting out over the last few years. Everything fit well. I was missing 0 parts, spare parts were extremely scarce and they are not the parts that would ruin your experience if they were lost or broken. For example the lifters are rubber band powered with each bank using 4. You only get 8 bands so if one snaps, or of while you're stretching it to fit ,it slips off your finger and shoots into your HVAC.... Well tough, I suppose. Attaching the fully assembled cylinder heads (which are square bore for some reason) after having already attached the pistons to the rods was incredibly frustrating. And snapping together 98, 53, and 31 x 2 chain links was tedious and monotonous. But most importantly after all was said and done, it was just boring. And looks like a pile of bricks in real life. I know engines are not typically super exciting to look at in real life either, but there are just random jutting out pieces and all of the holes are exposed. It's virtually unidentifiable as an engine. I would recommend the company for the quality of the kit itself but I found this set to be a pretty boring and an unsatisfying build.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND
It’s exactly as pictured. The build itself is amazing. Firstly the parts are packed similarly to Lego style, individual clearly numbers packets. The assembly booklet is also similar to Lego Technique style. In all it feels as if this is a collab with Lego themselves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Like lego, way way cheaper. Very nice kit.
Is it lego?...nope. can you tell? nope.... well only if you know what to look for. Very nice Kit. My teen loved it! based on the number of pieces.... paying a 1/3 of the price for lego brand! Also bought he Asil red car too...

Recomiendo 10/10
A pesar de que son bastantes piezas el instructivo venía completo y ya armado está súper padre porque algunas piezas se mueven simulando un motor, se lo regalé a mi novio y le gustó mucho!
