ARCCAPTAIN Plasma Cutter Machine, 55A, Non-Touch Pilot Arc, 120V/240V

I'll be upfront: I was skeptical going into this. Budget plasma cutters have a reputation for being finicky, inconsistent, and short-lived. The ARCCAPTAIN 55A has made me eat that skepticism. First cut out of the box was clean. Arc starts reliably, pilot arc ignites without drama, and the cut quality on mild steel is genuinely good — smooth kerf, minimal dross, consistent travel. I've run it through 1/4" steel plate without complaints, and it handles thinner sheet metal without blowing through or leaving a ragged mess. The large LED display is actually useful. Current readout is clear and accurate, and setting your amperage is straightforward. No cryptic knobs with vague markings — you dial in what you need and it delivers it. The torch and consumables that come with it are decent quality for what's included. Consumables are standard enough that sourcing replacements isn't a pain, which is a big deal for long-term ownership. Air requirement is real — make sure your compressor can keep up. Pair it with a proper dryer/filter to protect the consumables and you'll get much better cut life. That's not a knock on the unit, just plasma cutter 101. Build quality feels solid. The case is sturdy, the leads are reasonably heavy gauge, and the unit runs cool enough during extended sessions that I haven't had any thermal shutdowns. For fabrication work, body panel cutting, or general shop use, this punches way above its price point. If you've been on the fence about getting into plasma cutting because of cost, the ARCCAPTAIN 55A removes that excuse entirely.

Absolutely love this machine, it is all it was described to be. First thing I did was tested the cutting capabilities and it cut 3/4 “ plate very clean, I was impressed by the quality and precision in this machine.

Dose not do any thing is says will not run on 110 volt I have used many plasma machines and never have been so un happy ask me it is junk

Want to preface this saying that I will update the review with further use. I have used a plasma cutter quite a bit in the past but it’s been 15 years or so so I’m slightly rusty. Initial impressions are good, very happy with how small the unit is compared to the older hypotherm I’ve used in the past. Ordered at noon on Saturday and unit was on my door step at 4:30pm Sunday night. Unboxing and assembly was easy. The pilot arc ring terminal could be slightly smaller to better fit the stud but that’s a very minor complaint. The air hose I didn’t have any difficulty like some, a simple hose barb and quick connect fitting and I was in business. Unit fired right up and cut some dirty 1/4” I had handy to test it with. Used again today to cut out a grave marker for a family pet from 1/4” stainless, very satisfied with the unit so far especially for being all in with spare consumables for around $340 versus the price tags of a comparable Miller unit

This one is amazing but you need 240V for great and fast cuts. 110 V is so so.

This is a great unit for the price. I've used it to cut 3/8" aluminum and it worked like a charm. So easy to set up and use.

Cant believe how long i went without owning this machine. Hands down the most useful tool i have purchased in a long time, for Dollar value to usefulness. Cuts steel like butter, i was using a hand me down plasma cutter before, it was like trying to harness the sun through a magnifying glass to cut steel. Never have i used something so frustrating in my life, purchasing this i realized, it wasn't user error. It was just a POS. this Arc captain is amazing, and very easy to use.
