Absolutely delicious!
I read all the previous reviews, and debated whether I was going to risk buying this. I'm not a coffee or tea drinker, and was looking for a nice, warm, healthy drink (something other than herbals!!). The negative reviews were very damning and quite convincing and I almost didn't buy this, not wanting to waste my money. But, fortunately the posative reviews managed to convince me. I am drinking my first cup of dandelion coffee as we speak. I am amazed and delighted at how mild, smooth and delicious it is! I needed no added sugar or honey, since it's already quite sweet, just a bit of milk (I used goats!).I am SOOOooo glad that I didn't listen to the negative reviews. Now remember I am not a coffee drinker, so I'm not able to compare it, but I suspect this is too mild for coffee die-harders. I never tasted the previous version of the dandelion coffee either, but I think it's great that they've made it lactose free. If, like me, you're looking for a hot, non caffine drink with lots of great health benefits, that is creamy and delicious, then this is it. If you're used to the strong stuff, you'll proabably want to look elsewhere (like Caro), but don't be put off by the negative reviews. This coffee, will be a permanent resident on my shelf from now on!!

Novel coffee but sweet
I was mistakenly sent a different product (same coffee but different packaging - in a sealable pouch) and since the product was a gift I would have preferred to have gotten the coffee in a box as that was the reason why I opted for it. But oh well...The coffee itself is nice as it is a novelty, but too sweet for my taste. Apparently, it contains some sweeteners (I didn't see any ingredients on the packaging or on the product description on Amazon so I was unpleasantly surprised about the sweetness). In the future I'd recommend adding them so that people who take their coffee black do not get any surprises. I gaveit 4 stars for the novelty factor, as the root tastes nice, but still too sweet. Recommend you add some bourbon, it's a great movie night 'cocktail'.

Recieved in the wrong packaging and didnt realise it had added SUGAR!
Although it says in the ingredients list on amazon 'Roasted dandelion root' be warned this does contain dextrose and glucose syrup, this for me really affects the taste of the dandelion coffee. It does show in the pictures, but its quite blurry and I didn't see that. I would recommend Cotswolds health dandelion coffee, much nicer and 100% dandelion. It also came in plastic packaging, not a tin which I was quite annoyed about as I try to avoid unrecyclable plastic packaging. As expected I couldn't get a return on this item because I had opened it and tried it to my horror the taste. I feel a good company would admit their wrongs and offer a full refund for the miss sold item.

Its a great healthy replacement for coffee
I struggled to keep coffee out of my hot drink options, I don't want to be loaded up with caffiene, so I tried this. Ignore bad reviews and try it yourself. It tastes sweeter than normal coffee but just use two spoons instead of one and its a perfectly acceptable and agreeable alternative to coffee, which irritates my stomach.

You probably won't like this unless you've got a sweet tooth
I read the reviews about Symingtons having changed their recipe to a less tasty one, but thought I'd try it anyway. I found that those people who said it was too sweet were exactly right - it really does taste ever so sugary if you compare it to the old version. If you like sweet drinks you may enjoy it, otherwise I doubt it's for you. The levels of glucose are obviously to blame here - which is also disappointing on the health front. I mean let's face it, most of us are looking to consume less rather than more sugar these days.It seems to me that Symingtons have upset quite a large number of their old customers with this recipe and have probably made a rather foolish mistake. Personally, I hope they change it back and until then I shall be giving it a miss.

Used to be a nice product
They changed the recipe some years ago so I stopped buying it, I tried it again but it's the same.Too sweet and you have to use so much of it to have a drink. Expensive for what you get

great product
I love this product and although I am a coffee drinker, I cannot have caffeine later in the evening. This is the perfect evening drink for me. The flavor is unique and all it's own, more chai like than coffee like, because it is made with milk....but, has its own delicate flavor.

a lovely cuppa!
although it says coffee - don't expect more than a very mild coffee taste - it has a taste of its own which is much more subtle, but its a very enjoyable hot drink alternative which needs no sweetening and you can also drink it without milk at all.Enjoy!
