Spectacularly Sherry
Hard to convey how sherried this whisky is, in fact on the nose you could mistake it for one! Knocks the spots off a Dalmore in that respect. I like a sherry finish on an Islay for example, but in this one it's far more prominent, dominant in fact! While I may drink a sherry once in a while I usually find it too sickly sweet, and this whisky strikes a good balance between those sweet funky raisin sherry notes and a deep woody flavour that keeps the whole thing nicely grounded.Having tried this side by side with the rest of the range I'd say this is the best bang for buck, but it's not particularly cheap for an 18 year old whisky. Given the very strong sherry, unless you are a big fan of that taste definitely try before you buy! Personally though, I will definitely be replacing this one when the bottle is empty.

Stunning!
Personally I found this stunning. However I can see why it could or does divide opinion. Break the seal and you get a nose of rich sherry. On the palate it is initially soft with sherry overtones followed by esquisite deep depth of excellent superb mellow whisky.Might not be to everyones taste but this to me is the ultimate after dinner dram.

Absolutely superb!
If you have had the pleasure of tasting this whisky before then you’ll already know how fantastic it truly is. However if you are still yet to taste this then you are in for a treat. On the nose you have strong sherry, dark fruits of plums and raisins, cinnamon spice and dark cocoa. The impact on the palate is rich and powerful yet smooth and creamy with a long aftertaste of spice and dark chocolate. Highly recommend.

One of the best in my collection.
I had visited the distillery and bought the 12 year old and was very pleased with that. When my daughter got married recently I thought as a nice whisky for part of the celebration I would get this 18 year old. It is a stunning good whisky, not only to my palate but everyone who tasted it and many are fussy with their whiskies. Exceptionally nice whisky and hence my 5 stars at a good price.

Not quite the 2019 or 2020
Not bad but definitely not quite the quality of previous bottling years. My dad likes it and it was a present for him so happy with that.Do not buy this if you are expecting the hype that surrounded the previous years bottling (think 2019/ 2020) though as the flavour has definitely changed for the worse - just to clarify it is in no way bad but I think at this point they've run dry on the reserves that had hung around since before their distillery shut down so you're not getting those cheeky 30+ year flavours but to be fair that situation isn't exactly the norm so it's not fair to hold that against the distillery. All in all pretty good but a bit pricey for what you're getting at this point.

6 stars.
On a visit to the distillery earlier this year, I bought a bottle of batch 5, which as you can imagine, came recommended by the assistant in the shop. True to word, it was lovely. Didn't last long. The bottle that is. A bottle of 18 y.o. was my next trial and as expected, very, very nice. This could soon become my favourite tipple. Oh yeah, and the distillery shop assistant was great as well.
