CGear Sandlite – Patented Sand-Free Beach Mat

We used this on a sugar-sand beach, and it worked great! Dry sand went right through with a brush of the hand. No sand came back up through the blanket onto us. If sand gets kicked or tracked on, it doesn’t just fall through by itself, but a quick sweep of the hand and it’s gone. Do not expect wet sand to go through. We got stuck in the rain and it was a mess. However, the mat dries quickly so we were able to easily shake the sand out later. I recommend sitting on a towel or something soft because this is made out of a fine mesh and may be uncomfortable on bare skin for extended periods of time. It is high quality and we had many people around us on the beach ask about it because they saw how well it worked and how easy it was to pack up and carry. It was nice for adults to sit on the edge of it and build sand castles with the kids without having to sit directly in the sand.

I’m not sure I qualify as a minimalist, but I don’t believe in junk and think of paying good money for a quality product as a type of investment. This one deserves a review.I bought CGear’s Sandlite mainly for going to the beach and was pleasantly surprised by how well it works. Yes, it sheds sand. Yes, it stands up to being flopped on, doused in saltwater, baked in the sun, rolled up, and used every weekend. I’ve gotten a number of questions and compliments on it.I recently took it camping (it’s now the designated mudroom outside my girlfriend’s tent) and have also used it to clean my gear. I’m pretty meticulous with my stuff and don’t want any grit or sand getting back on whatever I just took the time to clean. So everything goes on the Sandlite to dry before going back in the shed.Would make a great gift for one of those outdoors people who don’t like spending money on themselves. Or a deserving beach bum! I got the SMALL (pictured), which works well for my needs. If I was only going to use it exclusively at the beach I might opt for the MEDIUM, just for the luxury of really stretching out. Chances I end up getting one anyway? High.

Just as advertised. We love this mat. It’s eqsy to fold and carry, quality sturdy material and dries quickly since it’s nylon and waterproof. Course sand must be brushed off as it doesn’t filter through, but this was definitely an awesome purchase.

Works okay, but doesn't do great with coarse sand. Price is too high for this product.

This blanket handles sand like a dream. That was the reason I bought it. Other features I’m pleased to have learned is that it’s really comfortable and it repels water. Having water easily wiped or pushed off helps keeps the blanket sand free.I got the largest one and it can easily fit a family or three large adults laying out on it.The blanket rolls up to a small size. It’s small enough to put into a beach bag but also has a handle if you needed it.

It works. Coarse sand doesn’t filter well but the annoying pieces do. It is a bit thick and easier to carry than put in a bag but no complaints. It is a plastic product and throwing a towel down on top is necessary.

Sand goes away and does not get pushed from the bottom up. Lovely blanket, pricey and not very comfortable, but the sand all disapears as promised. Don't get fooled by cheap imitations that don't work as well and are not as heavy duty.

This blanket/mat is fantastic. Took it to Lake McConaughy recently. Worked great. Three adults can lie on it comfortably. Was great for the grandkids to play on too. The sand stayed off and it is soft enough to lay on without feeling scratchy. Wet sand stays on top until it dries and then it falls through the mat not to be seen again. Best thing I've bought for the lake in a long time. Will be great to take to the park or mountains for picnics, lying under a tree, etc. We have the 6'6"x6'6".

It is great mat, huge can easily fit family of 5. We used it on all types of survives, sand, grass, stones. On the sand, the sand does come up a little bit but will fall through back, so you don’t have Lift the whole family to shake off the sand. It is very expensive may but I think it is worth it if you use it regular.

Sandless Mat - OK. However, colours within 2 days in the Australian sun faded dramatically, making it look tired and shabby! As a gift, for the price - very disappointing and frankly, unacceptable!
