15M (6mm) Self-watering wick cord

I was skeptical about this wicking rope, but it actually works and I was pleasantly surprised. It's important to read the accompanying instructions and to realise that it can only raise water 7inches. To stop the end unraveling, I wound them in cotton thread (as opposed to sealing them with a flame as suggested) .

I have tried wicking outdoor pot plants in the past with mediocre success. These special cords make a real difference. They absorb the water easily and kept our plot plants going when we were away on a 9 day holiday. We came home to living plants despite the dry hot weather. Also useful if you don’t want to have to water your pots every day.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Impressed that worked well for keep plants watered. Watering efficiency: Sufficient to keep plants alive.

Quite a lot for the price, looks great quality too but trying it out, on a few days break at present so will hopefully find out if it’s worked on return.

I needed a watering system for my tomatoes while I was away for a week. I tried these but I don't know if they worked or not. But the tub of water I put them in had gone when I got back and my plants didn't die, so I think they worked.

I wasn't sure that this would work but as no rain was forecast for the whole 9 days we were away and the temperature was well above average I thought anything was worth a try. I was really surprised to find that it had kept my baskets and tubs watered and the plants alive. It really does work. I think 9 to 10 days would be around the maximum in this heat as the water evaporates but after 9 days away the ropes were still wet and the plants still alive. I will be using them again for my next holiday

This product worked so well. I tied knots in the end so each piece stayed in the water and it watered my pepper plants well for a week and a half!

I travel a lot and watering the plants has always been a concern in my absence. I have used this for over 5-7 trips and its never dissapointed. I have used it for almost 3 weeks of my absence but I came back to all my plants in perfect condition. Thank you.

Función perfectamente. Lo he utilizado con botellas de 1,5 litros. Si colocas la botella con la mecha encima de la tierra vacía la botella en 1 día y si pones la botella en el suelo, va más lento pero aún así se vació bastante rápido. No lo veo apto para ausentarte durante una o dos semanas. La mecha es muy gorda y pienso que por eso va demasiado rápido. Voy a probar con una mecha de 3 mm y a ver si el riego es más pausado. También lo he probado con un depósito de agua debajo del tiesto. La mecha toca el agua y sube dentro de la tierra. También moja bastante la tierra con esta mecha.
