I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this small yet powerful device. As an EMF researcher with 17 years of experience, I initially expected it to be inferior in accuracy and capabilities compared to the EMF detectors I typically use for my research. However, I found the cumulative EMF dose measurement feature to be particularly useful, a feature that I have yet to see in any other EMF meter on the market. Surprisingly, this device exceeded my expectations, and here's why: It measures electric and magnetic fields in two frequency ranges, with data output via two channels. The low frequency channel is especially valuable, as low frequency radiation is associated with higher health risks. Unlike the devices I usually use, which have only one measurement channel, this device allows for the separation of high-frequency from low-frequency radiation. Detailed statistics for all types of radiation - Although I would prefer statistics over a longer period of time and possibly presented in a graph format, none of my current EMF meters offer statistics at all. Therefore, I find this feature very useful regardless. Upon disassembling the device, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the HiRange manufacturer uses an Analog Devices RF chip and a Texas Instruments operational amplifier. Additionally, the RF measurement frequency reaches up to 8 GHz, whereas my professional EMF detector has a maximum measurement frequency of only 5 GHz. I also appreciated the fact that the device continues to perform measurements in standby mode. After using it for over a week, the battery is only showing half empty so far.However, there are some shortcomings to note. It's not quite practical that the statistics are only stored for 1 minute, and I would appreciate more information on the accumulated dose, as it's currently unclear which type of radiation exceeded safe levels on any given day.Overall, I'm impressed that such a compact device surpasses even many professional models in accuracy and capabilities.
