Great sound quality.
I love my ECHO Core. So many ways to use it. I can get through 3 twelve hour shifts before I need to recharge the battery. The color is beautiful. I love the recording option and the feedback. It is a little heavy and takes some getting used to. Overall great too for teaching or for someone who has difficulty hearing with a regular stethoscope. Easily wipes clean. It comes with multiple ear pieces for a better fit. For the price, they should have thrown in the screen protector.

Exceptional Sound Quality with Beautiful Design ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I absolutely love this stethoscope! The sound quality is incredible—heart, lung, and bowel sounds are so much clearer than with a traditional stethoscope. The noise cancellation is a game-changer, especially when working in busy facilities. The 3-lead ECG feature is a fantastic bonus, and the display is easy to read. It feels sturdy, well made, and the amethyst color is beautiful—it definitely gets compliments from coworkers! As an RN with many years of experience in hospitals, long-term care, behavioral health, and case management, I appreciate tools that make my job easier, and this one delivers. It has quickly become one of my favorite pieces of nursing equipment. If you're thinking about upgrading your stethoscope, this one is absolutely worth it. It combines technology with excellent performance and makes assessments feel easier and more confident. Highly recommend!

Quick, easy-to-use, and efficient
I am a medical student with graduate-level experience in signal processing. An early academic project of mine involved work on a portable ECG device, so I have a general understanding of the core ideas and challenges that come with designing such a device. I own a KardiaMobile portable 6L EKG device and a Littmann stethoscope with a tunable diaphragm which provide great points of comparison. My overall experience with this stethoscope is quite positive. I can see it being an useful learning tool as well, saving example EKG AND PCG recordings (simultaneously!!) of heart conditions as I observe them in the clinic. The EKG feature is easy to use, and finds a signal quite quickly (even faster than my KardiaMobile device). While it finds a signal super quick, it'd be nice to have some translation of the 3 plotted leads to the standard EKG leads found on a regular hospital system-- right now it requires some user interpretation. As far as the acoustics on this stethoscope go, it's handy to have the amplification, and I could see how it might help some clinicians with mild hearing loss. The noise-cancelling feature is also handy, reducing some of the artifactual noise you pick up with stethoscopes like the standard Littmann. HOWEVER, I find that turning the noise-cancelling can sometimes help pick up some of the higher-frequency sounds (the pulmonary setting also helps with this). Also, (nitpicking here) I've noticed the diaphragm paired with the Eko signal processing seems to be a bit different than I'm used to with the Littmann, especially on the cardio setting. Higher pressure on the Littmann emphasizes the higher frequency sounds, but on the Eko, it oddly seems to emphasize the lower frequency sounds. Also, sometimes the pressure optimal for clean EKG is not optimal for listening (in some cases). So it might require a little playing around and getting used to. Also, when using the stethoscope head paired with Bluetooth instead of the wired earpiece, there's a slight delay in the connection which is noticeable but at the end of the day is probably not a big deal, and could just be my earbuds. It is still pretty cool to be able to keep the head in my bag or pocket without the earpiece in case I see something interesting I want to record (and its fairly easy to tell on the app whether the acoustic/electric signal quality is good, even without listening). Overall, it's been both super educational and fun working with this stethoscope, and I look forward to using it more!

Honest review
This review is the Eko 500 Core. It's an exceptional tool for medical professionals, offering advanced functionality and superior sound quality. Here’s a breakdown: Pros: Outstanding Sound Quality: Lungs: Clear, detailed sounds, allowing pinpoint precision. Heart: Deep, rich audio with med-to-low bass for valve and contraction clarity. Wideband Mode: Balanced sound similar to traditional stethoscopes. Professional Enhancement: Allows users to hear intricate details, creating an immersive experience (e.g., "inside the lungs" or "inside the heart"). Ideal for professionals who want to refine their diagnostic capabilities. Build and Features: Durable and high-quality build that feels substantial. Intuitive screen for ease of use. Bluetooth functionality for connecting to earbuds, which is especially helpful in noisy environments like for flight medics. Capability to use without earpieces, enhancing versatility. Recording and Playback: Ability to record sounds for later review or teaching purposes. Playback allows for comparisons or consultations, adding value for diagnostic accuracy. Cons: Price: The higher price point might deter some buyers, though the review clearly shows it's justified. Overall Impression: The Eko 500 Core is not just a stethoscope but a professional-grade investment. Its cutting-edge technology, exceptional sound quality, and versatile features make it a standout choice for those serious about elevating their practice. Despite the cost, the value it provides in enhancing diagnostic precision and convenience appears well worth it. If you're in the healthcare field or looking for a gift for a dedicated professional, this seems like an extraordinary option.

It's for nurses too!
Love love love this stethoscope! I honestly cannot say enough good things about it. This is a heavy duty yet light weight wonder. As an actual stethoscope I have yet to find another that is comparable in sound quality - and the ability to change 'systems' (ie heart vs lungs) is incredible. There's definitely a difference that can be heard. The additional offerings as far as EKG functions as well as ability to connect to the app for recording digital vitals/EKG's makes this stethoscope one of a kind. It's certainly not cheap and having to pay for the app yearly at about $100 isn't ideal but until there's anything close to this available I'll keep buying and recommending. I do wish that a screen protector and bell protector were sent with the original purchase vs being a separate option to buy. I also was a little disappointed that it was $100 more to get the 'limited edition' color (purple) that I really wanted- I couldn't justify that extra expense no matter how pretty it was. Something for the company to consider - since they already have this amazing app- think about also adding/selling a pulse ox, BP cuff, thermometer that would integrate with the current app, even a possibile quick note/dictation area for each patient. While these items may not be used by a physician I can promise pretty much any nurse would find it invaluable. Signed- a RN

Ear buds fall off
THE EARD BUDS KEEP FALLING OFF. There have been many times where I go to listen and it scrapes the insides of my ears because the rubber parts have fallen off somewhere. And I work med surge, I couldn’t imagine going to a busier unit or working in the field and having to scrounge for the rubber pieces. I have gone through all the spares and will have to buy more just in case. * otherwise I love the stethoscope and how well I can hear in it, turns out I’m deaf to low tones and this has been a so helpful.

ITS WORTH IT.
FREAKING AMAZING. I was convinced by a pediatrician who owned it and reported that she had actually caught many murmurs in patients that had not been caught due to the stethoscope. First night I used on all my family members so I could show them the recording of their ekg… this is where things got stressful. Used on my 10 year old and was distressed to find a VERY irregular heartbeat. As a nurse, this is a very concerning finding to figure out for the first time in 10 years. Anyways, played it off well and was like oops didn’t do it right let’s do it again.. same thing. Felt her pulse, matched up perfect. I called her doctor and sent the recordings right away. The app (with free trial) detected afib in both recordings and a murmur in one, but obviously it’s not perfect. She’s having no symptoms of afib, but obviously the irregular heartbeat is concerning. The doctor reassured me she would be very ill if in afib, but that she wants to see her monday to follow up on the irregular heartbeat, and if symptomatic ED right away. (Found on Friday after work) Besides stressing me about my child (not the stethoscopes fault) I’ve used stethoscopes daily (cardiac littman) for over 6 years, thinking I had a great stethoscope, and this one takes the cake. It seals in your ears like earplugs, can’t hear ANYTHING besides what you are listening to. I’m practically deaf (not totally but I do need hearing aids) and can never hear very much with regular stethoscope…I can hear everything (INCLUDING BOWEL SOUNDS) SO CLEAR. On top of that, it ISOLATES either the heart or the lungs if you want it to. You can leave it in one spot on the chest and choose heart, and you pretty much only hear the heart EXTREMELY clearly (and can record or do ekg) Without moving it, you can switch to pulmonary, and then you ONLY HEAR THE LUNGS AND NOT THE HEART. WITHOUT MOVING IT. I obviously had all of my family members (children included) try it and they were all amazed at how they could hear one thing or the other even without moving it. It’s absolutely amazing. As an RN, my husband was like “why tf do you need a stethoscope like that” and the nurse practitioner I work with was like “why tf do you need a stethoscope like that” but if it is what caused me to notice my daughter has a very irregular heartbeat even after pediatricians “listening” to her heart before, worth it. If it keeps me from going to the ED because my resting heart rate is 150 (I have POTS) and thinking I’m having a heart attack? Worth it. If my mom complains her left arm hurts, and I can have peace of mind? Worth it. IF I CAN HEAR MY PATIENTS HEART CLEARLY, AND SEND HIPAA COMPLIANT RECORDINGS?!?!? Worth it. Out to eat and a person randomly collapses and is not choking? Can evaluate and see rhythm… worth it. If my patient has a condition that is undiagnosed and seems like could be heart related… can’t afford ekg? Worth it. ITS WORTH IT. Just get it. An EKG at the hospital is like 2000 even with insurance, and you can literally take a reading on all different leads spots with this stethoscope, it’s WORTH IT. Just get it. Pay for it monthly, pay for it all at once.. what is a life worth? Pretty sure more than this.
