Very impressed with the ease and speed of repairing plastic with this. I broke the grass discharge chute of my new mower. The break was jagged and about 12 inches long. I repaired it in about 15 minutes, and it seems to be as strong as before. I used a whole small bag of staples and stapled from both sides of the break, cut the staple excess, and used the heating wand to melt one of the wide plastic rods over my repair. It was effective, but I needed a fan to keep the toxic smoke/fumes out of my face. I did this in an open garage, but there was still a lot of smoke/fumes present. No fault of the product - just part of the process. I was impressed with how quickly the staple heats up! Just insert a staple into the gun, align staple to crack, pull trigger as you apply slight pressure to the plastic, and the staple almost immediately penetrates the plastic. The repair process was actually quite fun, and I am looking forward to my next repair (whatever that may be).

Great mending tool. Had a piece of plastic broken out of my 4 wheeler fender. Set the piece back in the fender and plastic welded it back into place. Been over a month now and still solid as nothing was broken. Great tool!

I tried it once so far and it worked well. I think the 100 Watt is plenty sufficient for this tool. The only reason for the 4 stars is the lack of a case that all the other tools come with. This kit is definitely the way to go as it provides everything needed to repair and smooth over the repair with the separate iron. Spend the extra money for this kit, it's worth it if you intend to use it frequently.

Great product and functions as described. Used the to stich a bumper cover back together until a replacement can be obtain. Used the zigzag clips to effectively bond the pieces back together, they provide a lot of stability to the repair. Lastly, used the straight iron and blending shoe to smooth the seam on the outside. Only thing i didn't care for is it did not come with a carrying case which have been a nice touch to keep things organized.

Had to repair several cracks and holes in a plastic gas tank. Worked better than I expected. Followed the instructions using the "staple" then the mesh, then followed with just the rod to smooth it out. You can barely tell where it was done and its as durable as the existing plastic. I did some stress tests on a separate piece and the base material gave way before the repair did. Pressure tasted the tank after and no leaks. The staple pieces are great for large cracks in ATV fenders or similar materials. A lot cheaper than replacing expensive parts. Have used it on plastic bumper covers on cars as well. Can be sanded and painted just like factory. With so muck of our stuff now all made with plastics, the possibilities are endless on what you can use this on. There are multiple places to get colored filler materials to match you needs. Just make sure you match the base material as there are multiple types.

I was not expecting much for the low cost, but I am surprised. I repaired a bumper, an air duct and a chin spoiler so far and this tool kit supplied all the materials needed to complete inside / outside corners, straight cracks and gaps with the supplied filler materials and staples.
