"I've owned mechanical keyboards for a while now, but I've only really used pre-built configurations. I've been thinking about building my own keyboard, but the soldering has put me off. This ZMX GMK87 Gaming Keyboard Kit is a great introduction to building keyboards, as you don't need to solder, and you can change the switches around and try out several types.The keyboard has a relatively sturdy case and it has the usual folding legs to adjust the height. I think it's quite nice and easy to type on. The weight of the keyboard combined with the rubber feet allow it to stay firmly on the desk and not move around.The design of the keyboard is quite good. The keyboard is well insulated with multiple layers of foam. I found that the switch snaps into place and you need to make sure the switch is evenly snapped over the hole before pushing it in. The amount can then use a keyboard test program to help identify bad switches so you can fix or replace them.By far, the GMK87 keyboard kit is probably one of the best keyboards I've ever used: the 05% layout strikes the perfect balance between functionality and compactness, making it ideal for gaming and work. The quality of its workmanship is top-notch: it's thick, has a quality feel and is a pleasure to type on with the mechanical switches - smooth and responsive. The excellent, sleek RGB lighting is fully customisable. It has more screen and knob functionality than many keyboards; I can customise the image, the knobs control the volume, and it can be programmed via VIA software. Whether you're a keyboard enthusiast or need a quality, reliable board, this one will meet all your needs!"

I chose the GMK87 barebones keyboard in white:Design and Aesthetics:The overall aesthetics of this 80% keyboard are excellent. It features the aesthetics of a custom keyboard, with a sturdy case design that looks and feels great with the metal knobs and custom screen in the top right corner.Switches and Stabilisers:This is a barebones kit (comes with stabiliser) so you have to buy your own switches and keycaps, hot-swap is supported and I've paired it with my favourite cartoon keycaps, which are simply adorable with the white base case! I haven't modded or tweaked them in any way, but they sound amazing.Build quality and features:The build quality of the keyboard is incredible. The key angle is perfect for me and so far the experience of using it has been quite good. The keyboard supports both wireless and wired connectivity!
