Aromatic Bitters, 200ml

Angostura is the first name most people think of when they hear ‘bitters’.There’s a reason for that – they have been making really good bitters for a long, long time.This is the classic recipe. It comes in an amber glass bottle with the distinctive yellow cap and oversized label!Angostura is a staple bar ingredient – from long vodkas, to old fashioneds, it’s specified in a number of classic cocktail recipes. It also adds a nice touch to a gin and tonic, and can add a bit of variety to a vodka or gin martini.I also use it when I’m making tomato-based sauces and soups, as I find the delicate taste it gives helps to control the acidity of the tomatoes.If I’m in the mood for a refreshing drink, but don’t want to get sozzled, I will sometimes add a few splashes to soda water.My only gripe about this bottle, is that just like every bottle of angostura bitters I have ever owned, I end up having to clean up drips from the worktop. No matter how gently you tilt the bottle to add it to your glass, there seems to always be a little drip which spurts out. This is a clear design flaw in the cap, but it has never changed as long as I’ve been using them.Still… I can live with that. If it wasn’t lunchtime, I’d probably go and mix up an old fashioned now, as just thinking about the flavour is making me crave it!Thanks for reading.

Lovely stuff and very medicinal. If you have an upset tummy or the runes or even intestinal worms this product is reputed to be able to treat it thanks to the gentian root it contains. In addition to using it in cocktails (famously the old fashioned but it works great in drinks that feature citrus flavours; try, for example, some grapefruit juice, jack daniels and a few dashes of angostura) I also like a shot with a can of soda served over ice. A sublime, fragrant and refreshing drink on a hot summer's day.It's normally quite expensive in supermarkets so finding it at a reduced price on Amazon is very useful.If you use it in cocktails rather than drinking it neat as I do a bottle should last you quite some time.

Just the most amazing clovey-orangery spicy bitterness that is utterly sublime when used sparingly in a good gin. Where have you been all my life?! I will always have a bottle of this in the fridge from now on. A good dash of this in the glass mixed with a half measure of good vermouth and topped up with gin makes a wonderful Martini. Alternatively a dash of Angostura in the base of a martini glass and fill the glass with the gin of your choice and you have the classic pink gin....simple, utterly delicious and very refined! A complex multi layered taste that also gives great colour....I totally love this stuff! Awesome!

The best bitters!!!!

Although in recent years the world of bitters has become fiercely competitive, Angostura has still retained its place at the hear of the table. Just a couple dashes turns whiskey and eggs into a glamorous whiskey sour, gives an old fashioned it's namesake flavour or adds death and complexity to a host of other drinks. If your just getting into cocktails this is one thing you'll need to have.

I bought this so that I could mix my own "Old Fashioned" cocktails and haven't been disappointed, I'm yet to try it as some others have suggested as a digestif but I can imagine it'd work as it has those really deep, natural flavours and feel to it. Should last for ages as not a lot's needed to add to a drink, I'd recommend that everyone should add a bottle of this to their drinks cabinet

This standard for bitters has been around for ever. I occasionally add a dash of Orage bitters on a Manhattan

Produit conforme à la description.On n'en trouve pas partout, donc ravi d'avoir pu me le faire livrer.Indispensable pour les Mojitos de mon point de vue !J'adore la petite touche que 2 gouttes apportent à son goût, ainsi que sa capaciter à égaliser les arômes quand les dosages sont fait un peu grossièrement.A noter :Je trouvais les frais d'expédition un peu élevés (10€), mais cela se justifie complètement par l'utilisation d'un emballage et d'un transporteur spécialement adapté au transport des liquides en bouteille en verre.La bouteille est arrivée en parfait état.La photo montre la bouteille après utilisation, et c'est bien moi qui ai abimé le papier, pour être clair.
