The Higround Trailhead Black Ice is my 4th gaming keyboard (previously using the Keychron 81 Pro) and my 1st Keyboard from Higround! From right out the box I know this keyboard will be a game-changer in both my gaming and work setup!I’m a travel Filmmaker/VFX Compositor so I edit a lot on the go, and most of the time editing on a laptop built-in keyboard is quite frustrating. I really like how the Trailhead is small, which makes it so easy to take it with me everywhere I go. Yes it’s very compact but still has everything I need! A must for creators/gamers who travels non-stop!About the design: I really love it. The build quality is solid! It’s very sleek and premium, making it aesthetically fits into my PC setup without taking too much space. I can tell Higround really puts a lot of thoughts into creating this masterpiece. When I was messing around the different RGB mode (specifically customizing my own RGB style), I noticed the colors are very vibrant and bright which was very pleasing to the eye. It provides variety of colors to choose from, and when mixed together, the colors just transition to another very nicely. I also really enjoy the hot-swappable feature. Thats a huge plus for me (who loves to change themes) and especially for other people who love to customize their keyboards overtime. I also love that it’s pre-lubed! It feels godly whenever I typed, it gives that satisfying creamy and thocky sound that’s not too loud, making it more fun to type. It also makes it easier to use in a quiet environment like the library, cafe, or office without distracting any people around. For $99? Say less, take my money! It’s definitely worth it if you’re looking for a high-performance, compact, aesthetically pleasing customizable keyboard!

Love it BUT I cannot see the letters at all in the dark hours, probably a skill issue, but seriously, if I move my hand off of the W while gaming I have to STOP and look for it, I even took a sewing needle, got it red hot, and melted a tiny hole on the W so I could feel it without looking. When I got it, I was seriously hoping the letters would glow through, they do not, for that reason, 4 stars otherwise 5 stars in operation of everything else!

Coming from an IKBC F87, I was curious about going from the already compact TKL to 65%.First off, the blackice keycaps look extremely clean and feel extremely satisfying to press. The RGB is easy to use and has several pre-programmed patterns that are hardware based.The linear switches themselves have a real nice and solid feel. They're not too long and the noise doesn't bother my partner too much. I've already put several hours on them playing Apex Legends and my movement feels extremely clean.Overall, I'm really enjoying using this keyboard!

Good quality for the price

there are two things I can say need to be improved on in the short time I have had itFirst is the lettering on the keys I would like if the contrast between the letter and the key was more it is difficult to see the lettering especially in darker lightingSecondly the foam they do have in the keyboard needs to be of a greater thickness while it is in there it doesn't do anything as it sits about an eight of an inch under the board if the foam was actually touching it would make for a much better sound qualityOverall I am happy with this board and only minor things I feel would take this to the next level
