I saw this ALLECIN Lead Free Solder Paste while browsing in Amazon recently, and being an electronics hobbyist for many years, I decided to order a tube to evaluate it for my purposes. The main thing that I wanted to try it for was to solder headers on microcontroller boards it with a hot air soldering/desoldering tool rather than doing it the conventional way: with a soldering iron and "regular" electronics solder. I figured that with the ultra-low melting point of the paste it would be a great way to ensure that I didn't overheat and damage the components on the boards. Unfortunately, this didn't work out for me quite the way I wanted, since although I could see the solder paste melt and flow when heated with the tool, it didn't properly make the connection from the header pins to the solder pads around the holes where the pins are inserted.That's OK, though, as I learned that the main purpose for this solder paste was for soldering SMD components to the surfaces of PC boards. Since most SMD components are tiny, it's difficult to solder them with a conventional soldering iron (at least, it is for me), and since I occasionally need to make repairs to such boards this solder should really help me make quick work of it the next time I have the need to do so. I love the way the syringe and various tips (one with a 1mm and one with a 1.3mm stainless steel "needles", plus a couple of plastic ones that can be cut to provide other sizes of openings) that came with the syringe allows for precise application of the paste where it's needed, and to help ensure that the proper amount is applied. So even though this product didn't work for my intended purpose, I was able to observe it in action and could see that it would be great for the SMD work. Thus I am awarding the full 5-star rating.

As I retired, I decided to get back into electronics as a hobby. Things sure have changed in the past 40 years! I decided to try my hand at surface mount technology and bought this paste for soldering.The paste worked well on small surfaces but was not usable for large components.I had some problems with the plunger trapping air. I solved this by inserting the needle of a 1cc syringe between the black rubber seal and the side of the tube, letting the trapped air out. This was one operation where I wished I had another pair of arms.I think I will remain with discrete components on PC boards, perf boards, or just breadboarding.

A good flowing and easy to use solder paste. It worked well for me when replacing some SMD components on a pcb. The paste melts at a low temp allowing me to minimize the heat to adjacent components. Good bond and conductivity! A great value for paste as well.

I ordered this to use to repair an older motherboard that had a single bad capacitor; repairing it would allow me to use the board in a PC built from old parts as a gift for a friend whose computer has been down for months.This was very easy to use, with no pre-tinning needed--just heat the old solder and wick it away, place the new capacitor with a dot of this paste, and heat briefly with a fine tip. Cleanup was pretty easy, even cleaning the needle tip for the solder tube, and I'm confident that capping the tube tightly will keep the solder usable for at least a year.

It works as advertised. It was very helpful for a low temp surface mounted component replacement. Not much more to say about it honestly. Worked great for it's intended purpose.

This low temperature solder paste helps prevent damage to heat-intolerant components. I practiced using it on a surface mount tantalum capacitor and a piece of dotboard. I used 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). It worked well, and the excess cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol.The only trouble I encountered was with the syringe. Upon inserting the plunger, there was a significant volume of trapped air between the black rubber tip of the plunger and the top of the white solder paste cap. The air-tight nature of the black rubber tip made it impossible for the trapped air to escape. This made controlling the dispensing of the paste difficult. Other solder pastes I have purchased have had the black rubber tip of the plunger already placed in the syringe, avoiding this problem. I burned a hole into the side of the syringe to let the air out, but found that what worked best was using the plunger with the rubber tip removed.To conclude: Using this solder paste without the black rubber tip of the plunger should provide better control over the dispensing of this otherwise good low temperature solder paste.

I went with this item over others because it included needle tips which would make the device repair I intended to do a lot easier.Only the applicator/solder was included, no tips. So now I’m 2 days out from a delivery from a different seller.It could be good, I don’t know. I’m not using this without needle tips, I have other solder for that. It’s too cheap to bother sending back, so here’s a 1/5 star review for my time wasted.
