A Must-Read for Everyone!
This is such a fantastic book! My daughter and I read it, and we could really feel how much love and effort went into every page. The art is beautiful, and the story totally pulled us in.It’s super relatable—especially for kids dealing with anxiety, but honestly, even I connected with it as an adult. We’re both huge fans of Mira now—she’s such a memorable character. My daughter and I both highly recommend it—it’s a must-read!

Fun and touching book dealing with social difficulties in middle school.
A touching and fun graphic novel about a girl with selective mutism and how she learns to deal with it and life in middle school. The art and coloring are wonderful!

Repeating 9x in 2 weeks, great book!
I bought Speechless 2 weeks ago and my 6yo read it 9x aldy! She loves all Aron's book so much, and because of it, I bought Speechless. Only Aron's book keep her captivated in the story. Great book, amazing author. We can't wait for the new release next June on Mr Wolf.

Super relatable
Fantastic book that both the adults and the kids in the house loved. Mira is so relatable, from her struggles with friends, conflicts with younger sister, to her trouble speaking in school. You don't have to have the exact same issue as Mira to relate to anxiety in social settings and her feeling of the words being stuck in her throat. So many kids (and adults) struggle with anxiety and its very physical manifestations. I love how Mira has such a strong voice when she is alone with her animations. The art is gorgeous and super high-quality for a book of this length - you can tell it was a labor of love. The author's note at the back is also amazing and unique. Very much recommend this book for all, and especially for those kids who struggle with anxiety.

Heartwarming and engrossing book with great selective mutism representation
There's a dearth of good books with selective mutism representation. Speechless was a really wonderful story about middle school life. Heartwarming and engrossing. Plus, both my daughter and I have been inspired to start making stop motion videos!

Explores anxiety
Speechless is a funny middle-grade graphic novel that tackles anxiety, friendship, self-expression and family dynamics. At the center of the story is Mira, a girl who is unable to speak when at school, but is the exact opposite at home. The nature of graphic novels allows for a lot of internal dialogue and drama. Creator Aron Nels Steinke quickly gets to the heart of things, and allows readers to process along with Mia.At approximately 250 pages, Speechless is in that sweet spot for graphic novels in which there’s plenty of room to explore without getting long-winded. It’s a fast-moving read that I easily finished in an afternoon. My 11-year-old gobbled it up, too, quickly adding my advanced copy to her bedroom library.Speechless features bold artwork and relatable topics. It’s bound to be read and reread numerous times.
