KEF Q150 Schwarz Paar

I spent quite some time researching a replacement for my Rogers BBC compact monitors which I’ve had for years and still sound great. But due to downsizing are now too big for our little cottage. So smaller speakers mean compromising on sound quality, right? Wrong! These KEF Q150’s sound great. They are crystal clear and have a surprisingly deep base. They perform like much bigger speakers, and at the price I think are a bargain. They also look good. Listening to them is a pleasure. Highly recommended.

I deliberated quite a bit over whether to spend the money on these speakers. I had a pair of Technics speakers attached to a Cambridge Audio Topaz amplifier connected to my computer through which I played music from Spotify & Apple Music. Would they really be a significant improvement over my existing bookshelf speakers? Well, the answer is YES!! Quite simply the transformation in sound quality and listening enjoyment is HUGE! I'm not an audiophile, but I listen to a wide range of music styles and they do a great job, for me, with everything from drum n bass, to rock, to ambient, to pop, Netflix, Youtube and even my Teams calls. I would highly recommend these speakers

Using 4x of these as surrounds in my home cinema and they sound great, a bit too much on treble side but fixed that by adjusting the settings on the avr so they sound great now.

I find these very transparent. They do like being fed by a high quality signal which I guess is the mark of any well performing speaker. Don't get them if you have a lesser amp. They have great bass extension. Not 5 stars because I think are speakers that would outperform them, but these are probably as good as you can get at this price point (they were £300 when I got them). And they are very good.

KEF is my favourite speaker brand, excellent detail, good bass, very good value

like everything about them cept a little expensive.... Speaker grills should be included in price .... that is shameful.

Tried pair with both pm6005 and dm39. Bass heavy but not deep enough, mid recessed, high crisp clear and spacious. When compared to old Tanoy mercury v1, q150 sound spacious and clear but vocal, guitar, piano sounded thin and fade away. Q150 also sounded a bit flat or dead and hollow. Depending on music type, some sound excellent due to clarity and added space, but some just doesn't sound right. Test with a pair of good headphone and you will understand something not right with frequency response of this q150 especially the mid and some part of bass.

Très bonnes enceintes HiFi, un incontournable à ce prix. Attention à la position + Elles n'aiment pas jouer de la musique dans les hauts-volumes, ça risque de les endommager. Donc gardez bien le volume à un niveau raisonnable !

Background/use case: I am using these near-field on my desk, each with dedicated Douk Audio G4 ampliers and a Topping E30 Dac/L30 pre-amp combination and an old DBDynamics subwoofer. They replace some old KEF 60s and are a substantial improvement over those (which is hardly surprising to be honest) Once I had everything dialed in a calibrated for my room, I listened to every genre of music that I like and can report that every genre is improved. I have to use the foam inserts (but have a sub-woofer for the bass so its not a big deal). I conclude that the clarity, detail and sound-stage I get from these speakers would take many thousands of dollars to beat. I'm done. This is an end-game system for me. Thanks to youtube reviewers: cheap audioman / darko audio / gr-research / jay's iyagi for the reviews they really helped me decide - I think those reviewers say everything that needs to be said and I can vouch for those reviewers. I think at this price point, there is no touching these for value for money. My soul is filled with happiness.

Excelente producto,buenos poco decir de estos altavoces kef los mejores altavoces para cine en casa.lo más importante de estas dos altavoces es su anchura de sonido es increíble el sonido está en todas partes pareze que estés en la calle sonidos distantes y a la vez cerca dependiendo del sonido que la película emita algunas veces me levanté del sillón creiendo qu es en alguna habitaion o por el patio es tan precisó y con tanta apmlitud el sonido que estás totalmente dentro de la película sonidos reales y con precisión distintas distancias entre sonido si graduas bien el receptor con todos los altavoces kef disfrutarás.

Le Kef Q150 sono il meglio del meglio per l'ingresso nel mondo degli audiofili, senza necessariamente svenarsi. Il suono esce in maniera limpida, anche se l'amplificatore è un semplicissimo nobsound. Le casse sono da 100w, ma suonano bene con amp dai 10W in su. Quello che sorprende è la risponsta in frequenza, che spazia dai 51 ai 28Khz. Ovviamente l'orecchio umano non arriva a quelle frequenze (io ho amaramente scoperto che oltre i 19 già non sento più niente), ma nell'insieme queste casse hanno un suono chiarissimo e molto bilanciato, accarezzano letteralmente i timpani. I bassi sono giusti, mai invadenti, i toni medi sono caldi e bilanciati, gli acuti perfetti, non si sentono distorsioni. Gli strumenti musicali sono perfettamente isolati e il driver uniQ in questo regala un suono bilanciatissimo. Il suono sembra provenire tutto dalla stessa fonte, senza discrepanze (cosa che da vicino si può avvertire con casse a 2 o più vie). Le Kef Q150 vanno bene per qualsiasi tipo di genere musicale, ma sono limitate all'utilizzo in ambienti non eccessivamente grandi. La presenza del bass reflex aiuta tantissimo a generare una tridimensionalità sonora, a patto che le teniate leggermente distaccate dalla parete, ma si perde se l'ambiente è troppo grande. Al primo utilizzo ero rimasto leggermente deluso dai bassi, ma dopo una quarantina di ore di rodaggio si sono aperti di botto. Non credo che a questo prezzo si possa avere di meglio. Le consiglio a chi come me ascolta prevalentemente rock. Se amate generi musicali fon una netta prevalenza di frequenze basse, vanno meglio le Q350, ma non avrete mai la chiarezza sonora tipica di questo modello.
