Thoughtfully designed
I had to replace my old doc cam that stopped working, and am glad I chose this brand. This is so thoughtfully designed for portability and space. It has more features than I use, but in my use of it as a little whiteboard on my desk by my laptop that gets picked up and projected onto a classroom screen, it works well. It folds up to be very compact for travel in a laptop bag, and takes up very little space on a desk. It is lightweight. The cord wraps neatly and has an attached tie for bundling the cord. There are cord guides on the arm of the device that keep it out of the way when plugged in. It even comes with a small HDMI extension cord, just in case you need one. My only complaint would be that It only has two sizes for magnification [my old camera could be dragged to any size I wished], but I can make do with that. Whoever designed this really thought through how to make it compact and convenient. My old camera would often freeze and take forever to reopen; that has never happened with this one.

Compact document cam. Packs down for portability. Well designed software.
This is a small document cam with weighted base. It is basically a nice webcam on a pivoting/extending arm. It has a few built-in controls for exposure, zoom, flip, and auto-focus. == Build == The unit feels substantial out of the box, but all the weight is in the base. It's about 430g (15.2oz) total. It packs pretty small, but I don't like how the cable exits the top of the cam module. The base, and first section of the arm are very stout. After that things get a bit flimsier. You can't really touch the arm during use without it wobbling. == Webcam features == This is a USB 2.0 webcam. It has 4 buttons. Sun: cycles through exposure/brightness, 6 levels. Magnifying glass: Zooms 5 levels. Outline: re-focus. The side button flips the image. Supposedly it does a single auto focus in document mode, but I haven't figured out what document mode is. The webcam image modes are primarily MJPEG. It has 4:3, and 16:9 aspect ratios. These all support 30 or 25 FPS. 4:3 resolutions: 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1600x1200, 3264x2448, 2048x1536, 2592x1944 16:9 resolutions: 1280x720, 1920x1080, 3264x1840 Additionally, it does have an uncompressed/YUYV mode with more limited resolutions, and much lower framerates at high resolutions. They are 640x480@30, 800x600@25, 1024x768@15, 1280x720@10, 1600x1200@5, 1920x1080@5, 3264x2448@1. The webcam exposes a number of software controls. There are the standard brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and gamma sliders. There are toggles for automatic white balance, and continuous auto focus. Then there are controls for white balance temp, sharpness, backlight compensation, and absolute focus. The microphone is usable for voice, but it does have some low level noise (hiss and crackle). Okiocam appears to release firmware updates for their products, but there aren't any for this new model yet. The webcam chip is SunplusIT SPCA2680A 4K2K/8M USB 2.0 Web Camera controller. Seems to fit the bill. Dunno about the sensor. == Apps == The live presentation software is available on Win, Mac, Chrome (extension), and iOS. It is necessary for the Okiopoint QR tool to work. Depending on the computer it can be a little slow at following the QR code, but it is functional enough. It has the ability to overlay a second webcam which worked on Win/Mac, but I could not get it to work in the Chrome version. Otherwise it lets you zoom the camera fluidly, pan around, freeze the image, rotate, mirror, and draw on top of the image. Simple enough, but full of features. The native apps (Win/Mac) seem to expose some extra controls like exposure, and re-focus without touching the physical buttons. While the main Live app is mostly for presentations, there's also a surprising amount of other webcam tools available from Okiolabs. Such as snapshot and recorder, time-lapse, stop-motion, and separate camera control apps. I played with the time-lapse and stop-motion. They seem a little less polished, but they work, and could let you do some neat videos. It seems like it would make a reasonable book/document scanner, but no software for this is provided. I played with it a little bit on Linux with capturing some images, and running pdfsandwich. Initial results make it seem feasible, but requires more tuning than I want to do right now. I tried CamScanner on Windows, and it can do a basic job, but did not embed OCR'd text.

Works very well and is easy to use!
This is a great item. I was able to use it right out of the box. Installation was super easy. I would buy again and consider other items form this company.

ok for family use with grandma, not for work
this camera does not allow for clear display of an 81/2"x11" piece of paper. Good enough for zooms with friends but not professional quality by any measure.

So easy!
Setup is a snap. Free software. Works perfect for remote math tutoring. Much easier than using a touch screen with stylus. Just what I needed.

Love this product!
This product is perfect for what I was looking for. Great quality for the price and stores small and compact. Many settings to adjust focus and lighting and the “wand” to zoom in and out is so cool! Highly recommend!

I am impressed with the quality of this visualizer
I needed a visualizer especially for my online meetings and presentations because it has a 4K resolution, the quality that it provides is outstanding, the image is clear and sharp and it makes a difference when I am sharing documents or doing live demonstrations. The details that this visualizer can pick or clear so it is easy for my colleagues to see exactly what I'm showing and this has significantly improved the quality of my presentations. I find the setup process to be quick and easy and the great part is that it is compatible with all the devices that I'm using, I personally have a Macbook but at work I have a Chromebook and I didn't have any issues so far to connect this visualizer. The camera`s arm is adjustable and this allows me to position it exactly what I have to and because it is compact when folded down, it is easy to store it in my bag especially when I'm traveling to work. I can simply use it without having to install any software because I just plugged the USB port into my laptop and then I start the camera app which is straight from windows and I can already see the image which is great. This is an effective tool that has made my online presentations way better, limit quality is great and it is also very easy to use.

Excellent picture quality and functionalities
The camera is easy to install and use and there are some dedicated apps to take advantage of all the features. The picture quality is very good either as a photograph or video. Dynamic range is not the best but for a sensor that size is quite good. It can be used as a regular webcam too. The arm and base is stable and easy to adjust.

Compact Powerhouse for Presentations and Scanning
Perfect for Presentations: If you give talks or presentations—like me, with my painting demonstrations—this visualiser is a lifesaver. Imagine being able to zoom in on a specific area of a painting to highlight a technique or detail. With the OKIOPoint smart pointer, which is cleverly designed to look like a pencil, you can easily direct the camera to focus exactly where you want, adding a layer of precision to your presentations. It’s super handy because it packs flat and small, making it easy to carry around. Plus, the setup is a breeze—just scan the QR code, download the app, and you're good to go. Portability Without Compromise: One of the standout features of the S2-4K is its portability. It folds down to a compact size, taking up minimal space in your bag or on your desk. Despite its small size, the build quality is impressive. The sturdy metal base keeps it stable, and the flexible arm allows you to adjust the camera angle with ease. You don't lose any of the functionality you'd expect from a larger, bulkier device. Going Paperless Made Easy: For those of us trying to cut down on paper clutter, this visualiser offers an excellent alternative to traditional scanners. I’m in the process of retiring my large printer and moving to a more minimalist setup with a thermal printer, which doesn’t double as a scanner. The S2-4K fills that gap perfectly. It’s like having a portable scanner that doesn’t hog desk space. There’s a bit of a learning curve if you’re not super tech-savvy, but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing. Versatility in Use: Beyond scanning, this device shines in live applications. If you conduct training sessions or any kind of live demonstration, especially with a Zoom component, the ability to share real-time visuals is invaluable. The connectivity is reliable, and the streaming quality is solid, though there might be a slight lag at the highest resolution settings. The visualiser performs best in well-lit environments, which is something to keep in mind. Room for Improvement: While the image quality is generally good, it could struggle a bit in lower light conditions. The OKIOPoint smart pointer is a cool feature, but it’s not groundbreaking—more of a nice-to-have than a necessity. However, these are minor drawbacks compared to this visualiser's overall value and convenience. Final Verdict: The S2-4K Ultra HD Document Visualiser is a top-tier tool for anyone who needs to share or scan documents on the go. It’s compact, easy to use, and versatile enough to handle various tasks, from professional presentations to paperless scanning. Whether you’re trying to save space, reduce paper use, or just need a reliable visual aid, this device is worth considering.

Good image quality and versatile software app
This is a handy little camera which is versatile in its many uses. The camera fold completely flat, so it is fairly small and can easily be placed inside a bag - approximately 19x7x2.5cm - it has a very solid rubberized non-slip base 7x9.5cm, it is weighted and provides a solid stand. The camera support arm can be unfolded, and there is a telescopic section in the section - the total height of the camera is a max of around 35cm off the desk. The focus is automatic and will work from 5.5cm to infinity, this provides a good range for doing close up shots for detail, or capturing A4 size documents with easy. The included software you download from their website - most antivirus software will give a warning, as did Avast for me - however, Avast servers confirmed that the software was safe and I installed the software. I had an initial problem with the software recognising the S2 Camera, I contacted support via the website and received a response that fixed my problem - the latest software was not on the download, and they said this would be fixed, provided me with a link to the latest software which worked perfectly and resolved the issue I had. The software is very good - you can use it in conjunction with your own webcam, so you have picture in picture if required. There is a QR coded stick which allows you to point at what you are presenting and the camera zooms automatically in to the area and scrolls the display if needed - it is a great feature. You can use this camera as a webcam if required or quickly position it to observe your desk, and anything you want to present. The quality of the camera is excellent. I have many use cases for this camera - primary one is for making video's of demos on my desk - The reason I give 4 stars is because of the software issue I ran in to - hopefully this will no longer be a problem for others, but it did delay me 4 days, as support doesn't operate over the weekend, so the camera was unusable for a while. It is also, all plastic construction, I would have liked to have seen some light aluminium used, especially at the price point currently of £84 It is a good piece of kit, you will be the envy of the gadget geeks that see this in action!
