Review: Easy to use, saves me from using paper staples, environmentally friendly outcome! - Up to 10 sheets of standard-thickness copy paper can be joined together without the use of metal staples. Brilliant! Instead of crimping the paper, it punches a hole through all the sheets and then creates a tab that tucks itself through and fastens them together. If the small holes on your papers don't bother you, this device can save you from inserting metal staples in your papers. Maybe that's good because you can't recycle paper with staples in it. I can't testify to the long-term sturdiness of this tool, since I only have punched a dozen or so holes in various documents. The tool I ordered is the color turquoise, which is pleasing enough. That it is colored makes it easier to find in a desk drawer. If this item were to come in white or black I would not have ordered it because those colors would make the tool too hard to find. Environmentally friendly tool. Super tool for light office use. It would be a 5+ star item if made of metal, which I imagine would make it cost more to produce but give it a longer life.

Does not take much strength, even for maximum load. Whether 2 or more pages, connections hold. Helps to press crimp flat with fingers, though not necessary. Strength of crimp is narrow strip of paper, maybe 1/8 inch wide. Staples are a lot stronger but crimps are strong enough for normal handling. Pages can be intentionally separated with care. Easier than with staples. And there's no staple to dispose of. Restapling must be away from original crimp. Holes look bigger than expected, but are fine for actual use. Crimps are more visible than staples, but less visible and intrusive than paper clips. Very handy for attaching working documents, especially where staples would be too much bother. There is a catch tray, easily emptied, that's not really needed. I have seen no "dust" or loose paper.

I love this idea! Removing staples for recycling and shredding is no fun. The good: >Reasonably tight grip and tidy looking fastening on up to 5 sheets of copier paper. I tried up to 8, but the punch hole begins to look slightly ragged after 5. The device opening is not very large so 8 sheets is the max (or 5 sheets of copier weight paper on a card stock backing). Two pieces of card stock (front and back) did not work - the card is too stiff and pulls apart easily. >No removing staples for recycling! >Cool for decorative applications - like adding a Thank You note to the front page of printed material. The bad > If you mess up there is no rescuing the printed materials. It's ugly if you try to take it apart. > No instructions in English. > Limited number of pages fit into the device. > It's necessary to punch the clasp as far away from the edge of the paper as the device will allow, which could intrude into the copy if your margins are narrow. Punching close to the edge makes for a weak clasp that falls apart. In general, the device is best when used for creative applications, and for "stapling" two or three pages together. For the right applications, I love it!
