A good value laptop at the Amazon Deal discounted price (£359) I paid. General performance is good though the display quality is rather poor. As others have noted, viewing is not good unless the viewer is directly infront of the display. At any angle, quality and clarity are disappointingly lost. Using a higher than default brightness setting and a high contrast desktop theme help. Otherwise, this is a good package with plenty of DDR5 memory (16GB) and a rapid (512GB) SSD. Note, as the memory is soldered in to the motherboard, it cannot be upgraded. I added a pair of small stand brackets to give a better angle when typing. They work a treat and are readily available on Amazon for about £4 or £5. Like some other reviewers, after a few weeks I started to regularly lose my WiFi connection and could only restore it by a reset of the laptop's network settings. This was proving to be rather tedious! After some investigation, I found this to be due to new "rogue" network driver being automatically downloaded. I temporarily reverted to the older version and the issue disappeared. Subsequently, a newer driver was issued by Lenovo/Intel and that works fine. So, in summary, I am pleased with my purchase. The laptop does all that I ask of it and is light and easily portable. Battery life is more than adequate and there is a quick charge facility where, according to Lenovo, a 14 minute charge gives 2 hours of battery life. Watch out for Amazon Deals. This laptop is often sold with a significant discount....

I love this idea pad, it is light and easy to use. It loads up fast and is very responsive. It has a lovely keyboard that is vety responsive. Great laptop for the money. Does everything you need.

I’ve been using the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (14 inch) for a few months now, and I’m genuinely impressed by what it offers at this price point. Fast enough for general use. Easy to operate and boots quickly. Good screen.

Why did you choose this product over others?: I purchased this to upgrade my previous Lenovo ideapad, with i3 processor and 4gb of RAM, which I loved. I opted for near enough the same thing but an upgrade of hardware with this i5 processor 16gb of RAM... which in just about every possible way is far worse in performance. The start up is very slow, the fans have to work overtime to load up a Google search and still don't prevent it from getting incredibly warm instantly. Very regularly this laptop will struggle to play a YouTube video as anything other than a glitchy powerpoint and won't load search results despite saying it is adequately connected to the internet. However, at other times it will refuse to connect to wifi networks for no known reason (wifi works perfectly fine on other devices). I am a student and use this laptop for uni work... Where I stuggles to open files of any significant size, and causes a mini panic every time it takes over a minute to save a document. Oh, and the privacy screen is naff, distorts colour and resolution unless you've used a protractor to angle the screen the right way. It is absolute rubbish, I don't know if I've managed to just receive a dud or if this is a theme with others who have brought one. I'm past the return window while writing this but cannot see any other way to draw attention to how pants this laptop has been for me.

It's a nice laptop I bought it for my wife's birthday it's a little smaller than standard 15" which makes it light and easy to transport. Sound is a little tinny and there's no fingerprint reader which is not surprising at this price . Has approximately 8 hours battery life

Overall good value.. was looking for 14’ so was limited. 16gb ram was great. i5 chip is ok and not the fastest. Screen is not the brightest and could be improved on. Keyboard is good but not back lit. Size and weight is good. Set up was reasonably easy.
