Bambaw Silver Bamboo Double Edge Razor | Mens & Womens Reusable Shaving Razor

So I am a big fraidy cat of ouchy things and I was intimidated by the idea of using an "old-fashioned" safety razor, but the planet/oceans being in the state they are I am just experiencing plastic guilt every where I go and decided to make some changes or at least try them out. As a woman I go through a lot of razors keeping the trees on my legs at bay. I am so thankful for all the reviews people leave. This led me to have a much better experience. I actually love the look of this safety razor and changing the blades was far simpler than I would have imagined. It did come with a single blade carefully wrapped in the box, but based on some recommendations I decided to buy some other razors by Merkur to fit this. I definitely think that it led to a much better experience for my trial runs of shaving. "knock on wood" I have yet to slice or nick myself at all. As a lazy shaver who has always just used disposable razors in water, it did take a few habit changes. Since there is no lubricant paper or anything you have to use some sort of lubricant to shave whether it is a good layer of soap, lotion or shaving cream. You also have to make smaller strokes with the blade since there isn't a row to catch what might have been missed the first go around. You also don't need to press in at all the weight of this thing tends to be heavy enough to do the work itself. The bonus to the single blade seems to me that it feels like a closer shave and the razor never gets gummed up which is awesome when it's winter and you haven't shaved in a week. I do feel like it takes me longer than it used to, but in fairness there is a learning curve getting a bit used to a different angle and I think I am just a bit more cautious with it. Another bonus is you'll probably never need another handle in your life and the replacement blades are far far cheaper than disposable. So you get to help out the planet, reduce your plastic consumption, get a good shave and spend less money. It's kinda an all around win win.

This is my first safety razor so here's why I like it then I'll give some thoughts about use on multiple (sensitive) body parts.I love the price in comparison to others out there. It's a way more sustainable product than disposable razors. Comes with one blade. It's also built nicely, sturdy and has weight to it. It's easy to hold in the shower because of the bamboo handle, it stayed in my hand without feeling slippery. Gives me a close, nice shave.A few things I learned: You want to let the razor do the work - NO preassure, let it glide with its own weight. Lather up as much as possible for a super smooth shave. GO SLOW! Legs and underarms are pretty easy but I was nervous when it came to the whole vag area but I tried and all went well! You want to make sure you pull skin so its flat and go slow.

Wow so yeah. best razor I have ever used and I am an old @*$^@$ man! Best shaving results of any, whether machine or analog razor. Really good.Easy, cheap, effective. The three pillars of economy. And you dont have to feel the guilt of adding yet another pile of damned plastic into the sea.

I like the way this razor looks and feels, It fits quite well in my hand and is easy to maneuver when shaving my face. Its very easy to screw off the top and replace the blades. I like the blades it comes with, They are very sharp and durable. I was able to use them every 2-3 days for more than a month before feeling like i need to change it.I've never nicked or cut myself with this razor even when shaving like an idiot. I wouldnt say its the best razor ever made but i would highly recommend it.

(see update below) I love this razor! I was worried it might be difficult to shave all areas (underarms, complete bikini area, legs, etc.) but it's totally fine. I have sensitive skin, and it's actually reduced my razor burn. One just has to follow instructions and place the razor gently on your skin using the weight of the razor instead of pressing like you would with a normal razor, to avoid nicks. I was really impressed, I like it better than a conventional razor and that's not because it's environmentally friendly and beautiful, I actually like how it works better. Note: I used Bigfoot Shaves blades, also bought on Amazon. I gave the exact same combo to my dad and he loves it too! Highly recommend.UPDATE: after using this razor regularly for about half a year, I have to admit that it doesn't work as well on non-flat areas like bikini area, etc. for women. I ended up switching back to a 3-blade razor for that. The quality of the razor is great so I am leaving 5 starts, but the head is so large that it doesn't fit easily in small places, or where there are folds of skin. I still prefer to use it for my legs, since it is long flat areas, but not for underarms or bikini area. Just wanted to share for other women considering this razor. Also, although I try hard, I still do have slightly more cuts using this razor.

I've been using this for years now, never going back to Gillette razors.

I am so impressed with this razor. I grew up with double blade safety razors and they became difficult to find so I went to disposable razors. I decided to go back to safety razors and I had forgotten how nice they are. This razor especially. I have extremely fine hair and dry shave as a result, so a close shave on first pass is almost impossible. I was able to get a close shave by letting the razor glide on the skin and nearly in one pass. This razor did it without irritating my skin. Disposable blades always made my skin red. This razor is incredible! Just get one if you don’t like disposable razors you won’t regret it. Please be careful if you have never used a double blade razor!
