Paraffin Outdoor Canvas Backpack Hiking Camping Rucksack Heavy Duty Daypack School Backpack for Men and Women

I bought this pack to use on day trips and light overnight excursions in the woods as a more classic, less "tacticool" alternative to my ALICE packs and Mil Tec "assault" pack. I did't realize that the leather straps and buckles on this pack were there for aesthetics only and are not functional. The main top flap and side pockets are secured by weak magnetic "snaps". The front pocket has regular snaps too but the buckle is held in place by the same weak magnetic snap the top flap is secured with. This may be great for urban commutes or tooling around the countryside on short day trips but if you need a bag that can securely hold a bed roll, sleeping mat or poncho for more demanding outdoor adventures I would look elsewhere. The pack overall looks to be well made with thick canvas and quality components; it's just not what I was looking for in an outdoor rucksack. There is enough internal capacity to hold enough gear for day hikes or a light overnighter but I like having the ability to secure a bed roll or blanket under the top flap and /or lash things to the outside of my pack like an extra layer of clothing or an axe or canteen. I suppose you could epoxy the magnetic snaps closed like one reviewer mentioned (should have read the reviews before purchasing) but I don't think I would I have as much confidence in it holding my gear as I would if it were properly stitched.

I wanted a good, sturdy replacement for my old backpack for hard travelling. Weight wasn't critical as I don't backpack any more, but it needed to be strong enough to handle being tossed around.I am not a fan of magnetic closures and may sew some of them down permanently; also would prefer for the top to zip rather than just gather with a tie. But it has held up to my habits for a full year which is rare for modern construction of just about anything. I abuse material objects.

Bag is nice and big and I love that, looks durable and great for travel packing. Color is not what I ordered but it’s still useful, some of the straps are magnetic buttons but I’m sure they will still be usable.

This is a well made canvas bag for the price. I use it as a diaper bag and day bag with my 19 month old son. I already lost one of the magnetic buckled because we had to loosen the strap and did t realize it would just fall off. Wish they sold replacement buckles. Read the other reviews. What they say about the buckles is true. Wish it were water proof but I love it and I knew canvas wasn’t waterproof when I ordered. Comfortable to wear. Hold a good bit.

Not great for laptops or tablets but a perfect picnicking, hiking, or overnight bag. If it was any tougher, it'd challenge chuck Norris in a beard off.

The bag is a wonderful bag. It’s roomy and made of a nice material. The side pockets are on the smaller side but stitched in nicely. The bad on this bag is the magnetic buckles. The buckles work like actual buckles but the only thing that holds them in place is a magnet. Even though it’s a strong magnet it still comes unsnapped to easy. A little sowing fixed this issue and now I have no problems.

Was very disappointed in the fact that the leather straps are just disguised snaps, and not actually buckled straps. Description makes no mention of this fact. Regardless, bag worked well, even when holding alot of heavy books. Canvas is fairly thick, but not SUPER thick.
