Works well
We've been using this product now for about 3 weeks. Finish seems to be holding up and it was fairly easy to install with no real problems. Instructions were easy to follow. I'm not sure why some were having issues putting it together, but if you're not mechanically inclined perhaps this is a complicated procedure. Loaded the trays with multiple bottles, soaps and such and so far its doing the job and looks nice. For those with issues, perhaps they're not tensioning the rod correctly. I followed the directions to make the rod about 2" (50 mm) longer than the opening I'm squeezing it into. This seemed to be an appropriate amount of tension once compressed as I haven't had any signs of movement despite the weight placed in the baskets.

Well Finished, Sturdy Enough, Convenient Assembly, Continuously Adjustable For Wide Range of Height
We placed this "Shower Caddy" floor-to-ceiling in a stall shower with a tile floor and a drywall ceiling. We ordered the caddy in silver (not black), and all the parts are well finished. The finish seems to be polished stainless steel, not a chrome coating. We just installed the unit yesterday, so we don't yet know whether the caddy will show rust when the unit has been wet & dry, but the finish looks like it will stand up. It will depend on the quality of the stainless steel. The pole is composed of segments that are connected by siding the reduced-diameter end of one segment into non-reduced-diameter end of the next. There are 2-inch-diameter plastic "feet", one to abut the floor and the other the ceiling. The majority of the segments (all but the lower 2) are identical, so height can be adjusted in large increments by adding or removing segments during assembly. (Actually, one half-length segment is provided in case needed to achieve the right pole height.) The bottom segment is a tube inside a tube with a twist-to-lock mechanism, so fine adjustments to the height of the pole are made by adjusting how far the inner tube penetrates the outer one and twisting the inner one relative to the outer one to lock the position of the inner tube relative to the outer one. The mechanism that locks the inner tube to the outer one includes a compression spring, so even after the inner tube is locked in place, it can be pushed in & will exert outward force. As stated in the assembly instructions, we adjusted the pole (with the inner spring uncompressed) to be about 1-1/4 inch taller than the vertical span of the installation location, so the spring had to be compressed to install the pole; thus, the spring exerts the force needed to hold the pole tight against floor and ceiling. The overall result is a pole that is securely in place and reasonably stiff (not wobbly). The unit came with 4 wire trays and a few small accessory hooks & hangers (e.g., for a washcloth or small towel) that may be clipped to any of the trays. The trays are well made and hook onto the pole in such a way that they may be hung on the pole after the pole is installed in a tight corner. Ours sits about 2 inches out of the corner, but we think it could be wedged in a bit tighter. I don't have words to describe how the trays are attached, but they hang without any fastener, so they can be placed anywhere on the pole & are not constrained to be attached at particular positions. Part of each the tray's "hook" mechanism, where the mechanism contacts the pole, is rubbery plastic that prevents metal-on-metal abrasion & provides friction to hold the tray in place vertically. The Amazon description seems to say that the hanging mechanism is proprietary. Overall, we are well satisfied with the design. We will see how well the Shower Caddy stands up over time.

Nice and sturdy, not for sloped floors
Ordered for a newly renovated tub to shower conversion. Really sturdy and well made, baskets nicely angled for space. Accessories for soap and razors very useful. However, I could not get the pole to stay firmly mounted, the spring component seemed faulty after several attempts, it kept loosening and would not stay locked. My new shower floor is sloped for proper drainage so could be why it wouldnโt hold properly. The instructions warn against using on sloped floors so not good for me. Vendor was quick to respond and refund.
