Scotsman is best of breed for ice makers. They make a countertop model and there are good reasons it costs over $4K.I thought I'd try a cheaper model because I only need it 4 months out of the year. I went through 2 GE opal2 units. Both suffered the screech from hell problem you can read about. Crazy loud and annoying sound.Then I tried an Oraimo. Started leaking on day 31. No customer service. No option but to return it for 80% Amazon refund.I've had this one for 2 weeks now. I use it all day every day. Working perfectly. Not wild about the wider than tall shape and the drawer is small but it works.If you buy any of these, make sure you use it a lot before the 30 day return window closes, and make sure returns are free.

Worked great for a few months. I loved how quickly it made ice, how easy it was to fill up the water, the self cleaning feature, and most importantly the size of the ice.However, what started as a faint, high pitched noise turned into LOUD and constant squeaking that we could hear from across the house.Per Amazon customer service, we took it apart but there is no exposed mechanism to oil.If you do give it a try, keep the box, as you’ll have to send it back if you experience this or another issue.

The media could not be loaded. Machine is making a horribly loud grinding squealing noise that you can hear throughout the entire house. It was also vibrating so hard it was shaking things on the counter.I will be ordering it again though... everyone makes a defective product every now and then. We will see how the second does.Will update review when new one comes in.

This is the little ice maker that could! It makes "the good ice" so fast. Only problem we've run into is that it comes out quite soft, not hard frozen, so needs an intermediate rest in the freezer then a whack to break it back up so that it doesn't become one big block of ice. We do live in a hot climate though, have AC set at 78F to cool the house, but that's still a lot hotter than ice.I make ice every few days then dry and unplug it so it doesn't keep flashing it's light at me. Clean weekly as recommended.Absolutely love it so far.

After reading so many negative reviews about other ice makers this was the one the caught my attention. I'ts elegant but, most importantly, it does the job well. Once plugged and water added, it will start producing ice in minutes! In a couple of hours the tray was full and we could use it for a dinner with friends. It's very slient too. Recommend it.

The product says to air out for 24 hours. We are going on 3 days and the smell is still so strong and the ice tastes like the plastic/chemical smell. Has anyone else dealt with that? We have run several clean cycles and ice cycles. If we run a few more cycles and it doesn’t go away, we will have to return it. Bummed so far. Not sure why it’s so strong.

Run multiple cycles beyond recommended, probably about twenty now if not more, and ice stays went and slushy. Only hold shape for a couple minute after cube drops. Squeaks very loudly to point I thought an animal and gotten in the house and was hunting for it only to find it was the ice machine.
