Sealed my basement bricks
I've redone our basement- the house was built in 1875. The old bricks were repaired at different times over the years and were generally a mess with dust and sand falling out in places. I had to literally vacuum the walls with the shopvac first- that's how bad they were. The product goes on well with sprayer but I used a paint brush to get in between the bricks really good. The odor is very low and it has the consistency of water. It dries quickly and leaves a very slight sheen. Anything dripped on the floor comes up with a little water, dish soap, and my broom. Since I applied just one coat, brick dust doesn't fall onto my bins and it feels so much cleaner overall. I bought several bottles and would highly recommend this- it's also the most reasonably priced sealant I've found.

Fantastic
When we start Renovating our 1920s home we had uncovered a Hidden treasure. I always wanted a fireplace just for decoration and this was a perfect opportunity. But After cleaning off all the plaster I want it's something to seal the fireplace without altering the Original look. I came across this stuff, the price seemed reasonable and seemed to be what I was looking for. I am telling you, this stuff is FANTASTIC, No odor, easy to use, Easy clean up and does the JOB! It puts me in the mind of a water down glue or maybe like mod podge. Dries quickly, with a A very mild satin finish. You can wipe it, and The very best part no more mortar falling out!!!! I even Put it in a spray bottle to apply inside the fireplace. It says you can apply 2 coats but one did the trick. I give this stuff 5 stars and will use it to apply to the rest of the chimney. I posted pictures the first one is from before using this product, you can see it doesn't change the look.

The perfect sealant for interior brick
We bought this sealer for the first brick wall we exposed in our 1905 home and it worked like magic. Since then, we have used it on two additional walls as well. Anyone that has exposed an old brick wall knows that the amount of dust is insane and even touching the brick releases a cloud of dust. We were desperate for a solution that would limit the need to vaccuum and sweep dust and debris from the wall. From the second we applied this sealer, the dust was trapped in. It’s been on for over a year now and we are still completely dust free. We applied 2 coats with a roller and brush and found application to be super easy. It has a slight shine which gives the brick a finished look without ruining its character. Before stumbling upon this sealer I researched home improvement store products and they were double the price and half the quantity. I can’t speak from experience but I’m sure they would not do a better job. I had to leave a review because this product is really amazing!

seals but no shine
Would like to give 3.5 stars, but not possible. Application is relatively easy, I used a brush and a hand sprayer. Starts milky white with bluish tint and dries out clear. Seals dust in between brick well. I did not have any issues with milky white residue like other people wrote. Once it's dry - it is clear. I was hoping for little sheen, kind of a wet look, like advertised - that did not happen. Color stayed exactly the same. I applied 2 coats in some places and once it dried out - no difference. Otherwise it is a fine product. I would still use it again

Seals bricks and mortar but does not leave a shine
I applied this sealant and n a 104 year old brick fireplace chimney. Prior to application the mortar was crumbling and the bricks were spreading masonry dust throughout the room. I did a quick scrub of the bricks using a wire veiling and then vacuumed up the dust before applying the sealer. Then I applied the sealant using a light paint brush, making sure to thoroughly soak each brick and mortar joint. Someone suggested using a paint roller but that seemed to leave little bits of foam mixed with the sealant. The brush was faster and easier to apply. After applying the sealer, the crumbling mortar and brick dust are now sealed behind the protective layer. No more brick or concrete dust coating the floors and walls. As several reviews noted, this product did not leave a satin seal on the bricks but more of an “eggshell” coating. Your results may vary depending on the type and age of your bricks. Hopefully the attached photos provide a good idea of what to expect before and after the application. The first two photos show the first layer in progress. The last photo shows the final results after two applications of the sealant.

BUYER BE AWARE!!!
This is a terrible water base sealer. After reading the instructions, I rolled on the first application, which went on and dried without issue. The second application that I rolled on and left a milky residue when dried on my brick patio, which measures 2475 ft.². I tried bleach, then muriatic acid with thorough power washing after both of those applications without success removing the milky residue.. See attached photo. After doing some research on Google and watching a few YouTube videos, I was able to find a product Sure Grip Magic Strip that will remove the white residue from the bricks. I needed 15 gallons of this product at a cost of $1250 plus another $600 for shipping with customs duties to get it to Bermuda. If you purchase this brick sealer tested on a small area first. That is something that I did not do. That will eliminate the nightmare. I’m having getting this terrible product off my brick patio.

Worked great on crumbly brick
I have a crumbly, rough brick half wall that was constantly spalling off little rocks onto the floor. Pain in the !!!! to maintain! I put two coats of MasonryDefender Brick Sealer on it and the result is great. No more spalling, no color change and the satin sheen is unobtrusive. Worked perfectly.

Brick sealer
Used this inside on a very old exposed chimney. Products was easy to work with. Left a slightly shinny coating . No dust coming from the bricks

The product was very chunky!
The product was very chunky. Didn’t go on smooth. Looked like coconut shavings almost. I tried to shake the jug and constantly stir it but remained very chunky. I need to buy a new product because this didn’t go on the brick well and it doesn’t appear sealed

Doesn't deliver as promised
I've added 2 generous layers on my brick wall and it's still like before. I was expecting a varnish style finish that would help me control the "brick dust" effect and... nop. I saw a MINOR improvement, but not as advertised. I need to find a different product now... waste of time and money.
