Feeling confident to say now that these perform well when you need them to, and for a great price!
I bought a couple pairs of these in order to outfit four of my guitars with locking strap buttons (typically I will lock the top of the strap and use a D'Addario plastic one piece lock over the button on the bottom), figuring the price is great and I can return them if they don't appear as capable and well-made as they are supposed to be. While a little different from the classic, standard Schaller style pins, they seem to employ a nonetheless similar mechanism of a spring loaded locking nut/washer kind of method in which the lock grabs the piece below it and holds it under the tension of the spring. Why the Schallers and their many knock off competitors charge up to 3 and 4 times more than these cost, I don't yet know. They over several months and frequent changes of axe function solidly, and without the dreaded loose spring screw and / or loose hexnut that causes unforeseen catastrophe with those same, name brand, premium-priced units. And that is pretty cool, allowing me to spend more on strings when I need em, and wouldn't we all prefer to put our money to stuff that will contribute to tone? Protecting your axe is but a necessary expenditure, and here, I believe I have found something of excellent value.

Worth the Price
These strap locks perform well, and fit my Schaller strap locks, but at a much lower cost. I bought them for the buttons, as opposed to the whole set, but ended up using both. The only downside is that the supplied screws seem very thin and weak, so I replaced them with stainless steel #6 screws, which fit well but add additional security. The strap portion fit as well as the Schallers, which is to say that if the strap is too thick, they cause a bit of trouble getting the nut to start. And over time, they tend to loosen. But over all, they appear to work as well as the Schallers. We will see if they last as long - I've only had them on the bass for a couple of months.

Pull pin to release strap falls out
Stay away from this product - complete junk/ the pull pin that release strap from guitar comes off and the whole assembly falls to pieces . I brought the black and the silver and within one month I have gone through about five of these . I got to the point where I kept extras in my case like I would guitar strings just case one broke . Thankful that I didn’t have one of my prize guitars hit the ground !!! 52 years playing guitar - I’ve been around the block . Do yourself a favor and don’t try to cut corners like I did - buy a good strap lock system !!!!’

Keep this in mind when ordering
These strap locks are "decent quality". You can usually get a couple pair of these for $10 and sometimes 3 for $13. These are "Schaller" style strap locks - which normally cost $26. I'm just going to say - you get what you pay for. If you think you're going to get a pair of these for $4-$5 and it will be the same quality as the $26 Schaller version you are not.I think most of these reviews were left by people that used this product under 6 months. I bought a dozen pairs of these and put them on all my guitars. I've used them a year now. I can tell you for the most part they are all still working good. But the failure rate is about 20% (for me) on the locking part that attaches to the strap. Over time they fail and the locking pin just falls out and makes that part attached to the strap useless. Luckily (at this price) I have plenty of spares and I just swap it out. But I don't play out a lot, and it's not a big deal to me.Do not buy this thinking it's pro quality gear. Do not buy this and think it will last you years and years. Buy some spares so you can swap it out when it fails. You get what you pay for - just understand that when you get these.

Very good deal!
They are slightly less good than the Dunlop version but at a quarter of the price, who cares! There is really nothing lacking in these at all! They work just as good as the originals, look the same and are 4 for like 12 bucks. Sold!

Security and ease of use.
A new way to rethink an old product and improve it, I have 12 guitars and tried many types of strap locks, this design is as good as the best.

Secure strap mounts
These lock down onto the strapvia a nut and washer, the have a spring loaded pin that keeps that assmelby secure on the provided pin on the guitar side. Literally pull the pin to disconnect from the guitar. My son had a few close calls with straps coming off a couple of his guitars. Installing these has removed that risk, recommended for peace of mind.
