Pasler Underglaze pen, Underglaze Marker, Soft Tip Design Great for Ceramic Pottery Bisque, greenware (Black)

This pen writes very smoothly, with great coverage — if you're looking for an underglaze pen, I'd highly recommend it. A couple of things to keep in mind: it has a soft tip, so you need to pump the glaze in with your fingers rather than pressing the tip against a hard surface (pressing it against a surface can crush the tip). It does come with a stiff tip and a replacement soft tip. I do appreciate that you don't have to shake it to get the glaze flowing, though. One downside — it looks like it may leak a bit, as I've noticed underglaze getting into the lid where it screws on. This brand's underglaze is excellent across the board. I can't say enough good things about their underglaze. I run my own teaching studio, and I recommend this brand to anyone looking to get into underglaze — it's also what I use in my own studio.

As a professional potter of 13 years I absolutely adore this thing. There's so many things it does incredibly well. It applies super dark so only one layer is needed. The one layer is super thin so its super easy to do sgraffito techniques. You can paint long lines or thick areas so much faster than you could ever do with a brush. My only wish here is that there are more options. Its super difficult to make thin lines due to the size of the tips included. If it had a wider range of tips available it would be a 20/10. But alas I will have to settle for 10/10.

I got tired of signing my pottery by scratching my name on the bottom. I wanted something other than a paint brush with thinned underglaze. The Pasler Underglaze pens are perfect, they write smoothly, my signature is easy to read. The pigment is strong and fires clearly to cone 6. I’m glad I gave them a try.

I used this marker once. When I went to use it yesterday, the whole plastic covering came off leaking underglaze all over the place. I tried to reattach the covering, not the cap, but it wouldn’t screw back into place. I’m extremely disappointed with this product and if my return window hadn’t closed already, I would return it.

I was disappointed in this. You have to push down on the tip to release the fluid . It works like a paint marker. But the tip is pretty soft and pushing down on it probably was damaging. Mine leaks. Could be just my bad luck with it.

I actually am amazed at how well this worked! just like using a marker. i was worried about the color looking too royal, but it’s a perfect deep cobalt. Just wish it had smaller tips, too.

This is such a great way to underglaze. The underglaze seems to be very strong. I used only one coat but for very dark probably need two.

These are great for lining, signing your name on the back of your plates, they don't run they stay in place and they have a rich color

I love this for my ceramic hobby. It's very solid pure black, goes on like a dream and fires without running. It is a bit thicker than I would have liked but I have worked out that a very fine touch gives a nice delicate outline.

Better than slip trailing underglaze. Precision lines on pots. Highly recommend

Pasler Underglaze Marker I was really impressed with this marker, I found it much easier to use than a brush and it produced nice sharp, solid lines releasing plenty of glaze. The colour was really nice but I would like to see a much larger range of colours as we seem to be limited to royal blue and black at the moment. I used a clear glaze over the top and then did my usual firing and blue marks remained nice and strong and bright. I’m very happy with it and I think the price is fair.
