Worked as designed & quick install
It was easy to install. The provided screwdriver worked by applying a lot of pressure to the head. The extra screws are handy, dropped one and it went into the abyss.A little softer would be nice, but the other reviews say that it softens. It isn't too bad though. The distance away seems fine. Unlike some others, I can still see all of the display. All and all, I am pleased. Main reason is that it blocks all exterior light from your vision when looking through the viewfinder. It does that well.

Works great!
Let me start by saying initially I had my wife order one of these and it was not designed to fit my R7. I didn't realize I sent her a link for an older Canon. So, I went ahead and ordered this one. It was simple to swap with the original and makes an amazing difference. No light gets on now when I use the viewfinder. It's great! And you can't beat the price!

Can not see whole EVF while wearing glasses.
As i said in title i cannot see the whole EVF while wearing glasses one side is always out of view. The screws are very tiny on the camera and difficult to seat because they are so small, I used a bit of gaff tape to ensure they remain seated.

Filmsy, rubber get tired after time.
I thought it was a great eyecup for my R7 but as months goes by the rubber kind of detach from the plastic base from which is only clipped onto. The rubber cup now always detach and goes loose from the base and it is a chore to put it back. Perhaps applying some kind of glue may help but plastic and rubber always have impredictable results.
