I've been an insectivorous plant aficionado for decades - having gotten obsessed with them in 1977 after reading "Cultivating Carnivorous Plants", by Allan A. Swenson (I was a freshman in high school). Since then, I've had terrariums, grow lux bulbs, stored up melted snow - all of the tricks necessary for successfully raising things crazy things. I recently had a Nepenthes that I bought on a whim at a Lowe's Hardware store last for years! So it is with caution that folks should read these reviews, especially the 1 star variety, because the producer/seller of these guys can only try and raise healthy plants, and *hopefully* get them to your door intact. They cannot be responsible for adverse shipping, or for the occasional bad plant that makes its way into your package. I arrived my plants the other day and I can only say the quality of the plant, and the care shown in packaging, leaves me with no choice but to rate this seller an A+ 5 star rating. Will you NEVER receive a bad plant or never have any issues?? O course not - it's a live plant, not a new screwdriver. So while I admit I had some reservations based on the 1 start ratings I read re: Joelscarnivorousplants.com, I can only say that their presence here on Amazon market place made my search for these plants a lot less trouble than it could have been. If you have have a wit about you re: these exotic plants, don't hesitate to purchase these if you are seriously interested in the sport. Otherwise -- stick to screw drivers. Also- a note abt the planting /care instructions is in order. The info that arrived with the plants was clear, thorough, and very helpful. The "NEW" approach to raising sundews and venus flytraps (VFT - never used that abbrev before) was very interesting. Pay attention to the instructions! They're not negotiable.

I am extremely disappointed with my order. Since receiving this plant, I have been watering it carefully and ensuring it gets plenty of sunlight, but it is not growing at all. I am thinking about returning it, but I am willing to give it just a few more days to see if anything changes.To make matters worse, I have tried calling customer service multiple times to get help. Nobody picks up, and the call does not even go through. The lack of support is very frustrating. I would not recommend ordering from here.

Easy to pot. Traps were larger than expected. Caught flies on the 3rd and 4th day after I received my plant. Great!

My 2 VFTs arrived 1 day apart. Yesterday + today. They're green + healthy for now. I'm following Joel's instructions carefully. I can grow Pitcher + Sundew plants but haven't had much luck with my VFTs. They're lovely plants until they die. They're were also of a much smaller species. I'll repost how it goes. Good or bad. I spent $40 for these 2 gorgous, little plants. If my husband knew, he'd have a "hissy". Wish me luck.🍀🍀
