Eagle Claw Aberdeen Hooks are great, especially if using live bait! They are stong enough to hold large fish (10+ pounds), but the wire is thin enough that if you get hung up, slow pull the line and the hook will bend enough to let go. The bend it back with needle-nose pliers and reuse. You don’t lose your other tackle when it gets hung.It holds large fish without bending because they are in the U part of the hook. Hang ups are on the tip. That’s why it doesn’t straighten out with large fish, but bend enough if you are hung up.These are my brother’s favorite hook and he’s been fishing for over 60 years. They are my dad’s favorite and he’s been fishing for almost 90 years!Eagle Claw used to make Aberdeen in size 4/0 as well. I wish they would again.

These hooks are the larger size. We use them for crappie fishing. Catches them in the lip and they don’t swallow the hook. Easy to remove.
