Works as advertised. Instead of programming the new internals I just swapped them.

When I bought my used 2023 Land Rover Discovery it only came with one Key FOB because the previous owner didn't trade it in with both key FOBs. Ordering a new Key FOB at Land Rover was $700 + $250 to program it, and it didn't come with the physical Key (the removable metal key to manually open the door if the electronics or the battery dies). That piece was going to cost another $240 from Land Rover to order and to key it to the lock on the vehicle. Without this piece, there is no way to attach a key chain to the Key FOB and the Key FOB looks like a piece is missing from it. Even though this is going to be my backup key FOB and I will probably never use it, I still wanted it to look like a complete key FOB. I bought this Shell case product just to acquire the physical key piece, understanding that there are no electronics and that the physical key is a just a "blank" and won't work. The key fits perfectly into the KEY FOB that I purchased at Land Rover so now I can attach a key chain to it if I ever need to. The description of the product says you can have the blank cut by a locksmith, but I haven't tried that, so don’t know if it will work. hope this helps.
