September 2014After some research, mostly reading reviews and watching them on YouTube, I settled on this grinder as a reasonable compromise between price and performance. There are cheaper ones, but they are noisy and don't give such an even grind. There are others ranging up to 30 times the price which contain magic (or so we would be lead to believe) but don't seem to make coffee that's 30 times better. What the more expensive grinders can do is grind fine enough for espresso machines, something this grinder doesn't claim to be able to do.So unless you want to make espresso, this grinder is a good bet.January 2025I'm not sure I shouldn't downgrade this to 4 stars. Over Christmas the ON/OFF switch became faulty (intermittent) OK, these things happen, but the customer returns page on Wilfa's site is designed to put you off complaining. They want All of the followingA photo of the S/N and model number on the base of the machine.A copy of the invoice - so you have to go rummaging through Amazon to find it. They've already go the Amazon order number.A Video of the problem!And a photograph of the problem - a fat lot of good a still photo of the switch will do. It's already visible in the video.I can understand some of this, but all of it??After an exchange of emails, Wilfa said they would replace the grinder and they didn't want the old one back.10 days later.A new grinder has been delivered. It differs very slightly from the old one.It ha a solid plastic earth pin on the mains plug, but that's OK, there is an international double insulated symbol cast into the base.The little on / off rocker switch is the same size, but a different design. I guess they had a problem with this and changed the model.So, all in all excellent customer service and a great grinder.

This grinder would be 4 or 5 stars but for one thing, its incredibly messy. Maybe because its missing an earth (UK), but the grind container collects static that results in the grinds sticking all over it and when you come to empty it out they just go everywhere. Your surface ends up looking like a war zone after a single use. Everything else is great and quality is great too, the static just makes it unusable really.

Grinds the beans but oh dear the mess! The ground coffee container is difficult to empty without getting grounds all over the place. Just opening the lid and grounds fly off. The grind must be spooned out because the size and shape of the container makes it difficult to pour into anything but the largest cafetière.
