Never underestimate how much your pet needs a brush!
After my cat kept coughing up hairballs I had to step in, as clearly she was ingesting enough fur that she was being sick.A brush or comb wasn't going to cut it with my kitty as she is wary of such things, so I had to go for a more subtle approach.I purchased this item as it was one of the cheaper ones but also looked ideal for what I needed with reasonable delivery time (IE not coming from abroad).I worked out fairly quickly that the best way to do this was to put a towel on my knee with part of it tucked into my top under my chin, forming a sort of apron, otherwise I would be covered in cat hair sticking to me as well. And trust me, I was - frequently.Once the towel was in place, it was fairly easy to coerce the cat to come over & sit on it. I started using my hand & then introduced the glove, starting on her back when she wasn't looking.I could not believe the amount of hair I got out of her in a few minutes of stroking her with the glove. No wonder the poor little mite was coughing up hairballs if this is how much she was shedding!I repeated the brushing every day for a week until the rate of loose hair slowed and in turn, her hairball vomiting stopped pretty much straight away. Her coat was lovely & glossy after and she doesn't seem to mind me using the glove, assuming she doesn't see me coming at her directly. She will rub herself against it and roll around on my knee, but as soon as she realises its a glove, she seems to want to slink off, whereas when she doesn't know, she's happy to be touched - go figure. The hair was easy enough to get off the plastic brush - once enough of it was on there I could carefully peel it off in one go & drop it in the bin.My only complaints about this product are:The glove is so large that it moves about on my hand - there is no way to make it smaller for those with small/slim hands.Pet hair gets stuck in the fabric of the glove, so cleaning all hair off it after use requires a hoover or lint roller.I would recommend this product as it is gentle enough to use on short-haired animals without damaging their skin.

Static fur gathers on material
Bought this for my Jackchi short haired dog who sheds throughout the year. The product doesnt pick up much fur and the little that it picks up doesnt peel off easily, like the way it's advertised. The static also causes the fur to stick to the material making it doubly difficult to remove. Dog doesnt mind me using it on her so have given this two stars rather than one.

Not for dogs unused to being groomed...
We thought that as the glove looked just as if we were going to stroke him our dog would be okay about the glove and being gently 'brushed', however he obviously could feel the difference and did not like it, refusing to stay still etc.!

Sort of works.
I suspect this has varying effectiveness depending upon the breed you're using it on. On our Norwegian Elkhound, it did collect fur, but mostly it just pushed big fur clouds around that we had to pick up with the hoover. The glove is ok -- the hand pocket is big enough for my hand, but the wrist closure is ridiculously small; the velcro strap barely reaches around my wrist (about 17cm).

Perfect for nervous dogs
Used this for my staffy who thinks you’re going to murder him if you have a brush in your hands! This worked perfect he’s not frightened and allows his whole coat to be brushed

Good glove but not much protection for a scratchy cat !
Impressed with these gloves they do the job , but I did buy them to protect my hand. From my kitty who likes to attack while she's having a brush , although they do protect a little bit the glove it's self is thin cotton and she can still get me !☹️

Great Value
Cat (5 month old Ragdoll) is more than happy to be groomed by it, handles loose hairs very well and is super easy to clean off after use.
