Fairly efficient, decorative bulb in extra warm white
I've been gradually tried to convert many of the pops in our house to extra warm, white LED bulbs, as I prefer the almost candlelight yellowness of extra warm white as opposed to just normal warm, White or cool white. However, there are not many extra warm, white smart bulbs on the market. This is one of the rare examples. 115 lumens per watt. This is pretty efficient as most normal LED bulbs tend to be around the 100 lumens per watt range. The ability to also change the colour temperature all the way through to a middling cool white is rather nice so you can have it changed depending on the time of the day.In order to set up a bulb you need to install the Calex app which is very similar and indeed may be based off of the Smart Life app that many other smarts appliance manufacturers seem to use. Once you've installed the app, sitting at the bulb is very easy. You just need to give it the password to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (preferably a guest network ringfenced from your normal devices) and it'll link app. You can also then integrate your calex bulb into Google home or whichever other smart home system you use at which point the calex app isn't really required and could conceivably be uninstalled. And the time of writing this bulb is £15, Which is probably about five times more than a non smart bulb. However, when compared to other major brands in the market, this is pretty competitive for a bulb with a filament style. It's even more competitive. Add into that that it's one of the few extra warm white bulbs available and it really does show very good value for money.

Great tool!
I recently bought the CALEX Smart Filament Bulb E27, and it has been a game changer for my home lighting! This WiFi LED G95 bulb emits a beautiful warm white light, perfect for creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The gold finish gives it a vintage yet modern look that really complements my decor. The best part about this bulb is the smart functionality. Setting it up was a breeze—just download the app, connect it to my WiFi, and I was ready to go. It works seamlessly with Amazon Alexa and Google Home, allowing me to control the light with voice commands, which is super convenient when my hands are full. I love being able to adjust the brightness and turn the bulb on or off from my phone, even when I’m not at home. The 7W power is energy-efficient, and the bulb gives off just the right amount of light for my living room. It's perfect for relaxing evenings or when I need a bit of extra illumination for reading or work.Overall, the CALEX Smart Filament Bulb is an excellent addition to my smart home setup. It combines style, convenience, and energy savings in one sleek package, and I highly recommend it!

Nice looking large globe bulb, warm whites only (1800K-3000K)
This G95 globe bulb from Calex came well packaged and has a good quality feel to it. With so many companies making smart bulbs most of us will want to avoid using multiple apps to control different lights, so I wasn’t that keen on installing Calex’s own app. These bulbs do support Alexa and Google Assistant which is a good start, but as these are Tuya based they can be added directly to the Tuya app which I know quite a lot of people use, or in my case opens up the option to add to Home Assistant which I use to control all my smart devices. The majority of my smart lights are Philips Hue and although the quality of this bulb isn’t quite up to that level, for the odd vintage table lamp or similar these are far better value. Be aware these are Wi-Fi - and only 2.4GHz like almost all Wi-Fi smart bulbs - so lack the benefits of Zigbee, Z-Wave etc. This bulb is obviously designed to be seen so is best in an open lamp. In keeping with the vintage style this bulb only produces warm shades of white - 1800K to 3000K - which is worth noting as most bulbs advertised as tuneable white will reach over 6000K at the cool white end, but won’t get close to 1800K at the warm end.Priced at £15 at time of review this is a good value filament globe bulb.

G95 Wifi Alexa controlled lightbulb
A gold illumination LED light temperature in a G95 sized E27 screw fitting. The light uses just 7 watts of power but illuminates very bright over an area like a lounge or dining table. The 95mm diameter bulb is an attractive decorative feature on it's own. It has a good quality of look and of light and is an excellent value to uplift, upgrade, up date decor. It connect easily to wifi and the phone app. I like the ability to walk in and tell Alexa to turn the light on and to dim or brighten the bulb light in room.

Requires app which wants too much information
The media could not be loaded. I am a complete newbie when it comes to smart light bulbs, i have never used them before and i'll be honest when I say that i mostly ordered this one because it looks a bit fancier than the existing bulb of my new lamp. This larger globe style bulb looks fantastic, it is LED of which you can tell by the filament. On installation and switch on, all was ok for only a few seconds and then the bulb starts flashing continuously, this does not stop and on trying it again it kept doing the same. It turned out that you must have the corresponding Calex app to use it, which i begrudgingly downloaded from the App Store. With this app you are forced to register an account and add the bulb. I felt this app asks for too much information including the password to the WiFi but i went ahead with this, the bulb doesn't flash once it interfaces with the app and ends up working perfectly well. The bulb is mostly controlled by the app which is pretty intelligent and impressive but for me, it was too much for just a light bulb. I can see this bulb suiting some people but for me i didn't like it, i therefore deleted my information and the app as i found this too invasive.I was also slightly unimpressed by the efficiency rating of "E" since it is LED and supposedly meant to be more energy efficient. I can see some benefits to the smart features and that some people may swear by this type of bulb but for me i just want one that i can simply install, then switch on and off when i want, the energy rating would have to be much better as well.£14.99 (at the time of review) i feel is appropriately priced but i wouldn't order one again.
