is it stiff enough/capable of holding a tape measure, flashlight holster, and at times an impact drill and whatnot?

Yes, I use it daily for hanging knife, tape measure, impact gun, etc... Had mine 8mos. so far and one of the springs in the buckle popped loose. still works though, even after repeated hard use.

Is this belt good as a gun belt?

Not super stiff like a competition belt. But very comfortable with my carry gun on it and I believe it would work great all my shooting gear.

Edge of belt frayed, how do I fix this?

Use a lighter or a match to melt the frayed edge . Be careful it will be hot .

How thick is the belt?

it's about 1/16 of an inch thick.
