Would this hold a bag of flour? 1.5 kg

I think it would, yes. I use my tin for teabags, but I happen to have a 1.5kg bag of flour, and holding it against each side it looks to me like it would just about fit exactly. You might need to tamp it down a bit but at worst you'd have maybe a couple of tablespoons left over. It's a lovely tin too, so although I can't guarantee the fit, I'd go ahead and get it!
