Surprisingly good build quality and performs as expected within specs..
I bought this slightly cheaper NVME enclosure rather than the one I really wanted due to stock availability and have to say I am very impressed with this item. The construction is all metal (which helps with heat disipation), it has a quick release door which fastens very securely but also means you can easily swap drives. The package comes supplied with a really nice quality USB-C - USB-C cable which also has a standard USB adapter built in, making it very versatile. The cable has the added benefit of allowing PD power delivery which is currently charging my laptop from a powerbank as I type this review.

Great design, works fine
I bought this to house a Crucial 500gb drive to plug in to my proxmox server purely for holding proxmox backups of systems. I was backing up over the network to a drive attached to my main PC, but that isn't on at night and the network is an unwanted bottleneck. 500gb is plenty big enough for this, and being usb attached I don't need the latest superfast nvme drives either, so this made a really cheap upgrade to my system.I stumbled across this case by accident, it didn't show up in many of the searches I did on here, but its design is far superior to the vast majority of ones I was looking at - the way the case hinges open is far better for making good contact with the heatsink pad than any case that slides open can be. It requires no tools, the case clips open and shut, and for a full size drive you don't even need one of the rubber "bungs" that it comes with, the drive just clipped in to place under a small plastic tab. It is also much cheaper than most of the others.I plugged it in (proxmox is running on an optiplex 3050 micro) to a usb 3 port and it was picked up straight away. 5 minutes of formatting and configuring later and I was writing proxmox backups to it.In use the case is not getting even barely lukewarm, and the drive is performing very well - backups run at about 150-350 MiB/s depending upon the data, they take much less time, and I can schedule them for any time. Overall very pleased with it.

Low-price, excellent value for passively cooled enclosure.
Fast and solidly built tool-free enclosure, ideal for backing up media or cloning storage. The flip-open design is of a quality that can withstand most accidental drops or knocks. It has a single ball bearing housed in the lid as part of it's push and pull locking mechanism. This cannot spring open it must be pulled open manually. Inside you will see a plastic housing and everything is spaced out equally. The only heat dissipation I can see is a wide slit in the hinge, it seems to be enough, as I cloned a matched size SSD and it did not overheat plus I had not applied the thermal pad because I am likely to swap out storage capacity from time to time. The only LED is not much bigger than a pinhole next to the USB-C port and it flashes white when active or remains solidly lit. There are plastic gromits or screws included should you need to use shorter M or M&B key SSD's in the enclosure. You do get a USB-C to USB-C/A cable all are USB 3.2 Gen 2 compliant so expect at least 1000 MB/s read and write speeds or more over USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, if you are lucky enough to have USB 4.0 motherboard then you will be one of the lucky ones to take advantage of your SSD's speed potential. In my opinion, this is one of the better-value passively cooled enclosures available. it is ruggedly built and slips into a pocket comfortably without fear of it bending. I would go as far as to say it is a robust enclosure that will take a lot of abuse and protect your valuable data.Definitely, worth the price, I recommend it.

A useful and reliable USB device for accessing NVMe SSDs
So useful to have a USB device for accessing NVMe SSDs. Fast reads and writes to SSD without having to open up the PC case. Fast, reliable and cool running, I found it absolutely invaluable for shifting lots of data during several recent upgrades to Windows 11 OS. The only minor niggle for me is the short (150mm) data cable. I would prefer it a bit longer, say 300mm. Having said that, I am still very happy with this device, which continues to work very well for me.
