very clear and constructive
The road ahead is long - but at least this book gives you a good road map. Concrete examples and methods.

Schema Therapy
This text offers a quite reasoned and clear presentation of the elements of Schema Therapy. A set of logical steps in understanding, then utising this particular method. Nicely done.

Excellent book for practitioners and for clients
As a psychologist who has been practicing Schema Therapy for several years this book looks like it will be a very useful addition to the therapy process. Clients often ask for something to read to help them along. Up until now we only had "Reinventing Your Life" to offer them. That book is good, great even, but it was written before the concept of modes was introduced. Schema Therapy: Distinctive Features discusses schemas and modes and does so in a comprehensive reader friendly fashion. I expect to keep a copy on my desk for reminders and assign it to my clients and grad students as a matter of course.
