How to Be an Engineer (Careers for Kids)

Not what I expected given the title.
Not what I expected given the title of the book. The book has experiments and they did not appear to be that unique or that exciting. I thought the book was going to have building challenges, talk about the field of engineering. and walk through how to become an engineer and the concepts they needed to learn. I was not expecting experiments like merely rusting a nail in water. It was not what I was looking for. So I gave it away.

Fu book!
Such a cool book. Our kids are so curious about the world and this helps them understand more. How to make things. How things work. What itβs made of. Pretty cool book!

The supplies are not difficult to get and not very expensive and most of the experiments can be done easily by the kids themselves
My 8 year old boy loves this book. I read some of the factual data to him at night and bought the supplies for the experiments and he has taken it upon himself to create the cup phones, gumdrop tower, and more. The supplies are not difficult to get and not very expensive and most of the experiments can be done easily by the kids themselves.

Engaging your little engineer's drive to make
Lots of great projects - many of which were "do-able" for my six-year-old. Connects the dots between making and learning!

Great book; disappointing condition for NEW
The first thing I noticed is the tear in the spine and the sticker on the back. NOT what I hoped for in a new book that is to be a gift. However, the content is exactly what I hoped for: bright colorful pictures dominating the pages that seem to do a nice job of alternating between informative and do-it-yourself projects.

and thought it would make a good present for my grandchildren
I took this book out of the library, and thought it would make a good present for my grandchildren, 10 and 14 yrs. old. It has lots of info on experiments with everyday things, and it's very easy to read.

Interesting Engineering Activities
This was shown to me by one of my Year 4 pupils who had been bought the book as an Easter present. I was impressed by the range of activities and the clear instructions. I felt that it was something that I could use with my Year 4 class.

BRILLIANT
I bought this for the 5 year old daughter of a highly qualified engineer. They have been working on the projects together and he says she absolutely loves it, particularly the cups and string project. He cannot speak highly enough about this book. As a STEM co-ordinator, I hope he recommends it to others.
